This being a marriage of convenience was the biggest problem for me to get into this drama. They were so incompatible…
I honestly don’t remember so many details from the drama anymore, but I agree that it sunk in the last few episodes.
I think even the two leads thought that the whole idea was ridiculous in the beginning, given how early they brought up divorce. Their treatment to each other got better after that and I think that was where my comment came from.
I was giggling and kicking my feet while watching, so I wanted to drop by the comment section to see everyone’s opinion. I definitely did NOT expect a whole ass debacle on virginity. Seriously, wtf.
To those who are skeptical on watching this because of the ‘no kisses’ and ‘slight romance’ tags, do not be.
Summer Again got me screaming, giggling, and kicking my feet. While there is indeed no direct romance (censorship does not allow high school romances. see: every other youth c-drama where the leads get together in college), the main leads are definitely aware of each other’s feelings by the halfway mark. The male lead, for one, is aware of his own feelings as early as the first episode.
Tong Xu and Lin Nanyi are so in love and they know the feelings are mutual. They bring up how she used to call him her fiancé when they were kids all the time without being shy and they very much act like it. They look at each other with so much love. Physical touch may not have been present, but having acts of service, quality time, and words of affirmation as their love language is sufficient. Their relationship is the type where their actions speak for themselves. It’s giving the purest type of romance while navigating through the highs and lows of growing up together. It’s absolutely lovely.
Simply titled as Trespassers on Netflix, this 90-minute little gem manages to pack a punch in the black comedy and unpredictability department. Surprisingly a lot more layered and nuanced once you delve into its fun, hilarious, and bonkers mini-heist premise too.
oh this was released in 2022? congrats to this drama for being able to air before the government blacklisted Li Yifeng AND imposed the 40-episode limit 😂
mans managed to PISS me tf off in the Princess Royal but got me screaming, kicking, and giggling in Summer Again! it was a whooole detox and i’m now obsessed with him thank you very much
If Uhm Tae-goo finally had a romance comedy drama after 16 years as an actor, then I will not lose hope for the day Kwon Yul will star in a romance as the first lead 😩
Marriage of convenience, but not contract marriage. Not tropey or full of hijinks either. Their marriage is treated with sincerity and not just as a partnership that is bounded by laws. One where physical touch, acts of service, and words of affirmation are present early on.
The main leads are simply two lonely people, one adopted by a grandfather with dementia and one from a broken family, finding a home that they can happily belong to and call it their own. It’s quiet, lowkey and mundane, but also warm, sweet, and lovely amidst the cold winter, scenic countryside backdrop

- Everyone in this drama 😂
I'm finding the drama to be an easy watch! It's sweet, lovely, and gentle (the main married couple is giving gentle parenting vibes). Quite funny too.
Nothing wrong with trying the first few episodes then dropping it if you aren't liking it!
