As someone who has gone to Chongqing (where they filmed this), being able to recognize the unique metro, the red cable car, and the Ferris wheel makes this drama so special
Not that I am complaining but weren't Sang Yan and Duan Jia Xu best friends since college. Then, how come DJX…
They live in different cities after college but this drama is mostly focused on highschool (before DJX and Sang Yan met) and after college (when Wen Yifan is back in his life and DJX is in another city)
The First Frost has climbed to 2nd place on the overall Youku reservation list!👏🎉
some people on twitter said it's because they keep "delaying the release". they are so annoying, the first frost only ever had ONE confirmed release date (feb 18th), all of the other dates were melons (UNCONFIRMED RUMORS). i knew people would downplay TFF but they are getting louder and louder these days
Like I know what's going through Xiao Shui's head but it's so annoying in ep 21 seeing how mean he treats Xue Ranran. He is mean but also possessive and jealous at the same time... I'm glad Xue Ranran is not having it and is yelling at him for acting like a dick.
BRO IVE NEVER REALISED HOW MUCH I LIKED THIS DUDES ACTING LIKE I WATCHED FOYR OF HIS DRAMA AND ALWAYS RATED 10/10…
That's how I became a Xiao Bai fan 🤣 I watched one of his drama, then another, and then another, and then another before realizing that I ended up rating each of those dramas 9/10 or 10/10 on separate occasions. I connected the dots... and bam realized I'm actually a fan of his script choices and acting. I always feel so elitist and annoying when I tell people how I became a BJT fan because for Cdramas, let's be real, most people become fans based on how much they shipped a pair in a romance drama or how handsome/pretty the actor is.
spoiler mark because my explanation is quite long and this is such an unfortunate incident that left xiao bai…
I know which post you're talking about unfortunately, which is why I responded to this comment. There are way too many people who saw that Reddit post, and there aren’t many other English sources clarifying it. That Reddit post disguised itself as 'rumors' by being posted in a subreddit specifically for rumors, but it’s worded in a way that makes it seem like the truth. If you Google it, it comes up as one of the only English posts about it, so people will just believe it.
And the thing is, if I defend Xiao Bai, it just doesn't seem credible since I'm a fan even if objectively I am only talking about the fact of the matter.
That's a long Story to tell.. a lot of things happened in the Gala show last year..he was harshly criticised
I decided to explain what happened because I'm a fan of Xiao Bai and this incident, if left unexplained, will only be detrimental to him. There are limited resources out there explaining the situation in English. The only people who have talked about it are on Reddit posting on rumor mills and contributing to the backlash by spreading the rumors as facts
yooo does anyone know about bjt scandal at some performance show last year ? what happened
spoiler mark because my explanation is quite long and this is such an unfortunate incident that left xiao bai and xiao bai fans scarred.
on december 31st, the law firm representing xiao bai has successfully sued several bilibili account owners for uploading hateful videos with malicious intentions to create a false narratives. the court ruled in xiao bai's favor (just imagine how hard it is to win a defamation case in general... so the fact that the court ruled in his favor is VERY telling) and the malicious account owners had to apologize and pay a fine. basically the gist is, at the 2024 cctv spring festival gala (literally the biggest show in china each year), he was accused of trying to steal all of the spotlight by wearing all black and his positioning on stage.
so like i mentioned, this is the biggest show in china each year, participants have to rehearse it multiple times and it is even prerecorded so that if anything bad happens during the live stage, they can quickly switch the broadcast to the recorded one. this means, the prerecorded one has to be the EXACT same as what a perfect live stage is. the outfits have to be the same and the positioning have to be the same. the celebrities don't just get to pick their song/dance/positioning/outfits. just use that logic and you'll realize there was no way in which xiao bai could do anything to "steal the attention" without getting banned. cctv even said that everything in the spring festival was carefully created and accurately portrayed. if xiao bai did anything wrong, why would cctv invite him to their award show, go to TFF site and release BTS footage and interviews, broadcast his drama "Always on the Move" over and over again, etc? they would easily ban him!
these videos created a hate campaign of people micro-analyzing every single thing that he has ever done in his career. several co-stars, directors, and cctv gala employees have came out to publicly defend his character. 1. for instance, jin chen went live just to clarify rumors that xiao bai flaked on her movie premiere event. in reality, jin chen was aware xiao bai couldn't attend, he didn't flake. her words btw, not mine, not antis, not fans. 2. another thing is, people created rumors that xiao bai has a bad relationship with he jiong (he laoshi) for various "reasons" but xiao bai literally just went on hello saturday with TFF cast and he jiong had a guest role on TFF even though he RARELY takes on any acting roles these days (look at his MDL page for proof). if he jiong had a bad relationship with xiao bai, why would he come out of his acting hiatus for a drama that xiao bai leads in?
there are a ton of other outlandish rumors and since international fans don't really get accurate translations, i've seen a few english speakers spread the false rumors and there's no one to say how it's inaccurate.
lmk if you have any additional questions. but bottomline is, the event happened when everyone was on spring festival vacation for two weeks so they were bored and dogpiled on xiao bai because it was the fun thing to do at the time. there's mountains of proof against the rumors, starting with cctv's saying it themselves that everything was accurately presented, to xiao bai WINNING the lawsuit, to coworkers (actors and entertainers) going out of their way to refute the rumors.
