I want to BEAT Chang Ge. She's just TOO impulsive. Acting, without thinking about the consequences of her actions…
I think rather than impulsive (because they had a plan, albeit it's one that is not very well-thought-out), she's stubborn and still too naive. She relied entirely on someone she barely knows but decided to trust because she thought they had the same values.
When A'sun and changge hugged she said she wants to stay in wolf division but A'Sun didn't listen because he thought…
I did watch carefully, but I still don't think she should be blamed for his actions when she had already told him not to interfere. I don't think it is right to blame her just because he likes her. Because going by this logic, if another character likes her, is she responsible for their actions too? In my opinion, this is really just a case of unfortunate events for two people trying their best to make the most out of their crappy situations. If I must nitpick, I was a little disappointed that Ashile Sun brought his Eagle Division with him. He knows saving her would implicate him. Why bring his men to take this risk with him?
When A'sun and changge hugged she said she wants to stay in wolf division but A'Sun didn't listen because he thought…
Then based on your reasoning, can't we say that Ashile Sun is also thinking too highly of himself as well? Don't get me wrong, I love his character, but him risking himself and his entire Eagle Division to save one person is the same going by this reasoning. At least in Li Changge's case, she technically is only responsible for her own life. She told him multiple times to not get in the way of her plans, but he also didn't listen.
Ngl I hated that scene and thought it was completely unnecessary until the whole 'new phone' thing later. I definitely…
Totally agree. By the time they got to the part where Tum had to decide if he really wanted to reach in and pick up his phone, I already pressed fast forward because I couldn't handle it anymore lol.
Was the toilet scene with the SFX necessary?! Did we need to hear that? How does that still pass as humor in this…
Ngl I hated that scene and thought it was completely unnecessary until the whole 'new phone' thing later. I definitely felt that scene could've been shortened though.
Honestly, I think a lot of us just interpret things differently. From the way I saw it, since the beginning, Gene's character plays like someone who is very introverted with some social anxiety in how fidgety he gets, the awkward pauses, shifting eyes when he gets nervous, etc. People who find his character annoying might not have interacted with people like this. Introverted people tend to feel pressured when strangers try to break into their space. Of course, that's not an excuse to be curt either. Nubsib is trying to slowly squeeze his way into Gene's life. I don't really see Nubsib as sleazy, but he's definitely hiding a lot of things. I mean, who wouldn't try to impress the person that they like? If anything, I'm a little tired of the 'rude af to everyone else except the person they like/their lover' character, but that's just me nitpicking. The way he treats Gene and the way he looks at him do look pretty genuine though, and the credit completely goes to Kao's expressive eyes. In episode 4, when Gene covered Nubsib's mouth, he looked surprised and playful - I couldn't even tell if that was just Kao's acting or was he genuinely surprised (if Up improvised that scene). What I also liked in this episode was: Gene telling his friends off for trying to push him for an answer, Tum defending him to Korn later, Nubsib not letting Gene do anything while drunk, and Nubsib confessing. Like wow, HELLO, COMMUNICATION! I'm glad Nubsib chose to confess in this same episode after receiving Gene's drunk confession when they're both awake (and sober) so they can figure out where to go from there. The game of cat and mouse trope that gets used in so many dramas is only interesting for a little while before it quickly gets old. I like that this paves the way to addressing other problems people in a relationship may encounter in life.
can someone spoil me if inspector M died on novel? i am in love with this dude XD
No, he didn't get shot to near death and potential paralyzation in the novel, so I was pretty surprised. The case wrapped up pretty quickly after they found out whodunit because the plot isn't as complicated as the drama.
LOL wow she is so new the only pic of her is this? It's still a good pic, just that it's inconsistent with all…
Ahh, same!! Great minds think alike! How cool would it be if she gets casted as XLN in the next adaptation. I'd be down to watch it. She's a pretty good actress.
Except he's not really a "good guy". His job is a jinyiwei, so he works for the emperor. You can sort of compare…
There technically isn't a need for him to change since torture isn't exactly frowned upon for criminals back then, so I don't think that will be the focus on his character development. Instead, I think the focus would be on him developing emotions for relationships between people: with Yuan Jinxia romantically, maybe a reconciliation with his dad, and perhaps becoming friends/comrades with the people they've met along the way. You don't have to worry too much about the torture aspect though if it disturbs your enjoyment experience. There has only been one more after the first one within the 24 episodes that aired so far. The case(s) they've been following has mainly brought them out to other places.
I thought that good guys didn't torture people. Is it supposed to be ok depending on who does it???
Except he's not really a "good guy". His job is a jinyiwei, so he works for the emperor. You can sort of compare their jobs to the FBI, whereas Yuan Jinxia's is like the local police. I have to admit that the very first scene containing such graphic torture shocked me. However, it gets explained in a later episode that in order to become a jinyiwei, they are trained to be ruthless. The last standing survivor is the victor.
Episode 13 brought out my inner 少女心. I nearly flung myself into the sun. Her stomach grumbling constantly brings upon tension relief when the plot gets serious, I love it.
Excited to see Xu Lu again!! I've also been looking out for Lin Yi since PYHOMS.
