He's...fine imo. I don't know that I'd describe him has very thoughtful or good looking, but he's not terrible and I agree he's nice. Overall he's just very middle ground to me hence why I think he's mid.
I think maybe my expectations were just too high lol. I read the synopsis, so I knew she was going to have a crush on her coworker, but I wasn't expecting him to be so painfully mid and for her to be quaking in her boots like this over him. Anytime we cut away from her and Hikaru I get agitated. I'm so tired of this other dude ðŸ˜
AHHH this most recent episode was incredible! I'm loving this so much. Misa was giving the performance of a lifetime lol. When she threw herself to the floor in the office lobby I was cracking up 😂 I also like that Suzuki had his own regrets to tackle from his past life this episode such as not completely trusting his sister. It felt right that he went solo on handling that situation.

Not that much of a spoiler tbh, but just as an example, when Misa wakes up in the past and realizes what has happened, one of the first things she does is celebrate her lack of chronic pain. She runs through the city and has a big meal. That really was so refreshing to me.
I almost didn't watch this show because of how much I disliked the Korean version, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. It's refreshing so far and the casting is great. Both Misa and Reina really capture the overall spirits of the OGs. It strays from the source material in moments I hadn't expected, but those moments often feel like an improvement rather than a disappointment.
Kind of impressive how well they did with the world building considering how fast paced the movie is. I know it's not necessarily a complex concept, but it still surprised me. The story didn't suffer from being faster paced, and somehow the characters felt more rounded and shined more for me here than they did in the 12 episodes of the anime. I hope they do season 2
Somehow I zoomed past literally every warning and went in thinking this would be a cutesy "shy guy loves the popular kid" romance. Don't be like me 💀
The show is so enjoyable so far, but my God. The reoccurring cycle of watching Hua Zhi work her butt off making sure her family can live well just for them to undermine her authority and setback the progress she makes is so painful. They mean well and aren't bad people, but they're so hardheaded and prideful.
Don't let the episode count scare you. They fly by especially once you hit the middle section of the show. This drama was absolutely amazing and is probably in my top three Chinese dramas, and is in my top five favorite shows overall. I almost didn't watch it but I'm so glad I did. There's something to be said about a show that isn't afraid to really build up the characters. Watching Minglan and Ting Ye grow separately made them coming together much more rewarding, and it helped you understand why they experienced conflict with each other and strengthened each other. The cast of characters is outstanding, especially Minglan's family. Their scenes are impactful and often funny too.
Minglan is quiet and clever with a subtle sense of humor. She's honestly quite introverted and reserved, especially when it comes to love (which makes so much sense considering her home life) but has a spine of steel and isn't afraid to get down when it comes to things she cares about. I've yet to see any other FL like her. I liked that you got to really see how Minglan's upbringing shaped her as a person, which a lot of dramas really don't do to the extent that this show does. All the household conflicts that she experiences are not just petty trifles and filler. They're teaching moments that really end up aiding her in the future.
Ting Ye is outgoing, boisterous, and transparent about his feelings. I actually didn't like Ting Ye much in the beginning. He wasn't necessarily awful, but I wasn't impressed with his character at first. And that turned out to be one of my favorite things about this show. I greatly respect that they weren't afraid to show him failing. So many dramas have MLs that are almost inhumanely perfect. They're always the smartest person in the room who is always ahead of everyone and rarely makes mistakes. But Ting Ye pretty much starts off making mistakes. He falls for schemes in the beginning and isn't perfect and I love that. He's certainly not dumb, but Minglan is definitely smarter than him, and that's okay because he supports and protects her in other ways. Eventually, he gets better at utilizing his own strengths and balances Minglan so wonderfully especially in moments where she needed it the most.
Sometimes NC scenes reach a point where I start to wonder about set conditions. I'm not saying intense NC is bad, I just feel like certain shows have major "we didn't hire an intimacy coordinator" energy
The bills were due especially for Boom. They both were acting their butts off. Overall pretty enjoyable and I recommend. Ending was a bit rushed but it seems like there might be a season 2 so that's cool.
How's the comedy?How good is the story compared to Love like the Galaxy?
While it's not a comedy there is a decent amount of humor, especially in the wives in Minglan's family and her father. The male lead is also funny because he's very audacious and a big personality.
I'm gonna be so real, no shade to you personally, but I don't care at all. Abusers and worse are awarded every year in this industry. People rarely care this much when their faves are known criminals. I'm not withdrawing my support for her over gaslighting of all things lol
