I really hope they don't meet up before he leaves and reconcile. JS needs to leave her and move on. He needs to find someone to truly love him for what he is. HS should end up alone and miserable. That would be a fitting end to this drama that has become a cesspool. I hate the HS character sooo much!
Not seeing the insecurity in JS. Not once has he run away. I thought he might finally in episode 31, but he returned…
Honestly, I feel like HS has devolved. She is acting like she was 5 years ago before he parted for Paris. She is insecure in her own feelings, yet 10 episodes ago she wasn't. She is selfishly pushing JS to open up more, when he has so many scars. Stuff like that takes time. There is really no reason to push him. Why is she in such a hurry? And then seeing his mom behind his back and knowing the issues there. Why does she keep pushing? Poor character trait.
And then HS constantly creates misunderstandings by pushing the line she set with CEO JW. She allows JW to create the misunderstandings. She allows the boundary to be violated. She allows her parents to create misunderstandings. The more I watch this show the more I become disgusted with HS. Just an unlikable character from an actress I enjoy watching in other dramas.
HS also doesn't owe JW anything. He is selfishly pursuing her and has been since 5 years ago. He is the one who proposed to her after they barely knew each other and she had zero romantic feelings towards him. He didn't push her only because he was afraid that would lead to inevitable break that wouldn't be undone. I'm more sympathetic towards JW though, outside of him going back on his word and screwing over JS. That was out-of-character and poor writing.
Since Im a Wook fan and he was the reason I watched this at the beginning, and after all the lovey dovey between…
Not seeing the insecurity in JS. Not once has he run away. I thought he might finally in episode 31, but he returned and got the food to HS and her family. He has been mature about everything so far through and through. And level-headed. HS has been the one to slip into immaturity and is quite selfish with unrealistic expectations (based on the timeline we are shown).
I'm a big Seo Hyun Jin fan and loved all her other dramas, but can't stand her character any more.
I'm on the edge of dropping it, but already being 32 episodes into it, I'm doing this as justice for Jung Sun…
Watching the growth of Hong Ah, I think I might have preferred her over Hyun Soo. And keeping Won Joon and Soo Jung together. Would be a nice twist. And then the miserable HS and JW can both end up alone. Hating the two of them more and more with each episode.
Part of the issue is we are dealing with a drama with a limited amount of episodes to cover a limited time period…
And HS's mother regarding the CEO played out exactly as I predicted. I'm disappointed the writer went that path, because if I'm predicting it then obviously it is a cliche trope. It is just disappointing how she is choosing one over the other without knowing either well enough to make an informed decision for her daughter. Dramas tend to do that though, especially when it comes to mother-in-laws.
Wow. Didn't think it was possible. But Hyun Soo has become my least favorite character in the show. It has been a downward spiral watching the character unravel. JS has done nothing wrong, but he is about to be thrown aside. All the relationship issues due to HS, HS's mother, and his own parents. And then the financial issues due to the petty JW. I really like his character. Almost like he is destined to be alone and broken, like his family upbringing.
Not a big fan of Hong Ah going back to Won Joon. I was enjoying the developing relationship between Soo Jung and Won Joon more. And Hong Ah was growing as a character.
Did they ever explain who Ri Hwan's father was? I just started watching this and am almost finished and am still confused. Ri Hwan's mother introduced Haeng Ah's mother to Haeng Ah's father, but also loved Haeng Ah's father? I know Haeng Ah's mother died of cancer, but did she die much earlier than Haeng Ah's father? Is that why Ri Hwan's mother thought they had a chance to get together? But then how did Ri Hwan come about?
Because she tried to kill herself when she learned she was pregnant I thought it might be a sexual assault situation, but it was never really explained I don't think.
This entire drama was boring and pointless. They loved each other from the start and spent 15 episodes of angst ignoring each other for unbelievable reasons. There was literally no plot and it kept repeating situations of them loving each other but coming up with some other reason to prevent them from getting together.
T-dramas are popular with ridiculous misunderstandings, but this was beyond that. I'm glad I mostly skimmed through the episodes rather than watching this entire show straight through. Saved hours of wasted time.
Im watching this like a sitcom just to enjoy the actors and have some laughs :)
I almost fell asleep watching the 7th episode until it picked up in the 2nd half of the episode. I did fall asleep during the 8th episode, so I need to re-watch it. The drama is lukewarm to cold and rinse/repeat for me. Nothing great yet.
I'm basically skipping through this drama just to know how this plays out. The book it's based on is pretty sad,…
Based on those posts by goodsoup, the novel is quite a bit different. I have a feeling this is going to be a sad ending with the death of JS. That was what I thought might happen. And HS and JW don't end up together.
If this was a drama that had already aired I would have dropped it. It really isn't interesting enough to hold my attention to marathon it or consistently watch it. But since it is currently airing I am able to muster up just enough interest to watch it every week.
I enjoy the actors and actresses in it, and that primarily why I chose to watch it, but the writing and plot is weak. So far it isn't different from any of the "rich heir has to start from the bottom and learn life lessons" types of dramas. Throw in some family conflict and also relationship conflict between families and that tells the entire story. Was hoping for me from this drama with Kang So Ra.
Part of the issue is we are dealing with a drama with a limited amount of episodes to cover a limited time period…
I don't really see JS as non-established. Maybe in that culture, but he has a career, talent, recognition, and is running a restaurant. He isn't as well off as JW, but that is to be expected. HS is in a similar situation when it comes to work, but she is simply older. She and JS are on parallel timelines for their career paths because she started over late and he is younger. They actually make sense as a couple in where they are in life.
But her mom views JW as the better choice because he has the money to to be secure at that moment. I'd view that as a step back for HS though as she would be relying on him completely rather than her own merits at developing a career. Sure, she could live comfortably off him. And live comfortably off him while continuing to develop her career, like she has done the past 4-5 years. But I think it holds her back career-wise.
The reason I view it hypocritical is because her parents are a couple that married for love. They had kids late. They were both teachers. HS and JS are similar in that way. But she views JW as a better choice, not because she knows much about the two, but because he is a rich CEO. I find that all hypocritical.
I still love the drama. I look forward to it every week and feel sad when it ends especially without the darn…
Part of the issue is we are dealing with a drama with a limited amount of episodes to cover a limited time period in the "real world". HS is indeed selfish for pushing her own upbringing and beliefs onto JS so heavily and so quickly. But it is a drama and it has to push ahead at light speed. And at the same time we are criticizing JS for not opening up. But to be honest that isn't something that should be pushed. It does take time. But we have to move the plot along.
I also feel like they have written JW's character to be supportive of those in need around him regardless of his relationship to HS. But then I also can't really stand HS's mother. She views the CEO as the better choice for her daughter. Which is laughable considering HS's mother's own life choices. All very hypocritical.
I enjoy Hong Ah more and more every week. And I also enjoy her interactions with the director. The social media posts are great. Still don't know what to make of her interactions with Won Joon. And I like the Won Joon and hostess pairing. But then every scene with them always feels like Won Joon has one foot out the door and not really invested. Makes me disappointed.
The age gap was NOT that noticeable. I am amazed at the number of ageist types commenting here. If nobody TOLD…
Nobody had to tell me the age gap. The age gap wasn't even the issue. The issue I had was they had Ha Ji Won playing a much younger role and it wasn't believable at all. I'm not really sure why they chose her for this role. They also didn't do a good job of trying to make her look younger to fit the role either. I was disappointed overall. Her character wasn't that interesting either and similar to ones she has portrayed before.
I've liked all her other dramas, but this one was a tough sell. The story was also very weak, so maybe if that was better I could have ignored her playing a younger role more.
I was probably just looking for additional reasons to hate on this poorly constructed drama. I simply didn't like Ha Ji Won in her role in this one.
This really wasn't that interesting. Medical-wise and story-wise I found both not that enjoyable. Skipped through a lot towards the end. And it was really tough to watch Ha Ji Won play a younger role. It just wasn't believable. The age gap is really noticeable and tough to ignore. I enjoyed watching her in her other drama roles, but not this one.
Maybe if the story was more enjoyable I wouldn't have noticed the age gap as much. Maybe that played a part in my disappointment. Oh well. Glad I didn't invest too much time into this one.
I'm glad he patched things up a bit with JW.
