while PEB didn't seem enthusiastic about doing more at all after the drama ended i remember reading articles about the prod. company's CEO's going on all about how it's such a big and important IP for them, how much they want to expand on it through a s2, franchising, etc.. it was a bit strange. seems like the whole thing was really just the prod. company heavily pushing for it to be made out of desire to continue their success and less so the writer's desire to continue the story (i suspect this was the case with Squid Game s2 as well). how that'd influence the quality of the show is to be seen i guess.
you should check out love to hate you (netlflix), that was the last romcom in the vein of BP for me
same, i wasn't super into it right from the start but it gets really good really quick as the episodes go by! i also felt it stuck the landing a bit better than BP and i hope it'll be the same here

absolutely, ofc if you want to get through it "quickly" you could skip ahead but i feel like you'll get the most out of it by starting from the beginning (more context, get to know the hospital better, main lead's backstory etc.)
