i love how they used a cover of 비밀의 화원 (secret garden) as an ost here. it's always been one of my most favorite korean songs. if you read the lyrics you'll know this is song is perfect for the characters and the story they're trying to tell here :)
🎶 resist the temptation of materialism and take the proper path, the one to guide us once again, is the merciful and benevolent deity. repent for salvation 🎶 not yeon woo changing the song into a worship song LMAO
it'll be 2 eps every wednesday, right? here it says it's a wed/thu drama, but i'm assuming it's a mistake since i don't think we'll get 4 episodes a week lol
i am so seated for this. really enjoyed the beginning and i'm invested in both leads, they're both so lonely and numb to almost everything – and it'll be great to see them both gravitating towards each other and heal themselves in the process, even if it's what neither of them intended. i like the way the show is shot too, the framing and shot transitions are nice to watch and together with the ost (which i'm already in love with) it's overall a really pleasing vibe. i'm not that into melodramas because i feel like very often they feel stifling (?) not sure how to say it, but like they can get exhausting really quick. but i didn't get that feeling here at all, yet!
i loved the first two eps, and i'm usually not one for melos. the atmosphere is great, characters are miserable, music is hitting, and i can alr tell the romance is going to be very healing!
i wasn't a fan of it at first but it does really match the show's atmosphere! i wonder if the colors will change too when the characters' emotional state starts to change. it would be a cool thing to do for sure.
didn't realize how much i missed lee sung kyung <3 she is absolutely nailing her character here, the despair, the apathy, go girl give us everything!!! it's great to see her in a more somber and dark role. i almost cried with her on the staircase.
also i'm lowkey getting used to the odd coloring. it's giving indie film vibes and that ain't so bad lol it fits the tone of the show i guess.
tfw it dawns on you that it has been two years since you've decided to watch this and you realize that every other…
two years younger me on her night shift at work clicking on episode 1 doesn't even KNOW that this show will fundamentally rewire her brain chemistry. man i feel bad for her
