"Noooo," I yell, as i furiously hammer the refresh button of its viki page on my keyboard while crying. π
help i'm doing the same rn π this is the first viki on air drama i'm watching and i thought the episode would appear as soon as the counter goes zero here lmao...
β(ββ½β)β 8.5 MDL rating, at long last β(ββ½β)β
YES DESERVED! it's a clean 9/10 for me :) I rarely give out 10s, mainly to dramas I'm really emotionally attached to, but a 9 is basically still a perfect drama in my book. Let's hope this one sticks the landing π€
As someone who doesn't watch previews reading some of the comments is getting me so excited for todays episode ππ Literally counting the hours until it's out
Okay I sorta have a theory about the next episode, I think? The reason why in the flashbacks so far, Poong Baek is blamed for killing the princess by who I'm pretty sure is the evil prince, is because somehow she got killed within a fight between him and Choi Geom and PB. It might've not been PB but CG who accidentally killed the princess. This might be the reason why Choi Geom committed a "sin" and ended up being forever indebted to the Cha family as a spirit. And the evil prince who had fallen for the Princess could've blamed PB for her death since CG was fighting on his side. I could be wrong tho so we'll see tomorrow I guess!
Should I start watch this, I'm confused between this and another ongoing K-dramas...just finished 'Again my life'
100% you should! i held off on it for so long but now i regret not having started it sooner. it's probably the most underrated drama among the on-airs right now, but it's so worth it. Super well balanced between genres, humor is spot on and the mystery is really really good! leads are amazing together
SCREAMING AT THIS EPISODE!!! the writer ate and left no crumbs!!
It was so beautiful omg. We've seen bits and pieces of their past live before and now the full backstory is finally out!! I was wondering how Choi Geom was connected to them but it turns out he was the princess' bodyguard, and Poong Baek the Chief Priest who fell in love with the princess against the odds. I'm sure the next episode will be the sad part of the story, somehow the evil prince will want to claim the princess for himself and tragedy ensues. Not ready for it. :')
Some things I loved in this episode: - The princess having a full blown fan club with banners and fans for Poong Baek and forcing Choi Geom to cheer for him LMAO - The handkerchief with his "sharp nose" (pls) on and him putting the ring on her. I absolutely love how they foreshadowed this in previous episodes - Seul Hae's friend was also reincarnated! - Princess Chun Hwa and Poong Baek are exactly like Seul Hae and Cha Woong: She's devoted to helping people and he struggles to show his true feelings Give me the next episode now π π π
For controversy about body shaming, transphobic and etc..."It's a defamation for Park Hae Jin. It is from old…
I did tell her and she understands now. She's LGBTQ+ and was concerned because she's heard about the transphobia and so imho it was absolutely reasonable for her to be preoccupied about it.
@those people in the comments under me who seem to be overreacting without knowing my full context: Wether something is true or not, It's easy to get caught up in rumors when one side is the only being talked about, and not everyone has the energy to deeply care for every "problematic" thing they hear about a celebrity and to check all kinds of SNS to dig up info about it. It's shit yeah but it happens to everyone. We're not saints. Plus, if breaking off a frienship over some kdrama man sounds reasonable to you, then your friendships must be pretty weak :)
By the way, here's some trivia on the characters' names for those who don't know korean:
Na Il Deung: "na/λ"means i/me and "ildeung/μΌλ±" means first place. "na ildeung" can be translated as "i'm first (place)", just like how in the drama, he always thought he had to be the best in class and beat his classmates for the top score.
Yoon Ah Yi: ah yi's name in hangeul is written "ai/μμ΄" which means child, likely referencing how after trying to force herself to grow up, she rediscovers her inner child over the course of the drama, eventually believing in magic.
Ri Eul: in the webtoon, his pseudonym is just γΉ, which is the hangeul letter for R/L and is pronounced "rieul/리μ", hence the name here in the adaption. perhaps more of a personal guess, but ri eul sounds like "real"; as a magician who is used to nobody believing in his magic, all he wanted was for people to believe that it's real.
I think it's something quite neat and clever of the author to do!
I will never learn from watching on-air dramas, will I? I already convinced my dad to watch the drama with me so I have an excuse to rewatch it until more eps are out π

True that, I had absolutely forgotten about the forum function since I mostly use the MDL app. Devs should work on some updates π I'm so flabbergasted at how ppl seriously thought the ghost box was unrealistic?? It's such a fun and creative solution and makes sense since ghost frequency is a thing. Also, it's a damn comedy drama about ghosts, it doesn't need to make sense in the first place lol.

Ugh. People twisting words and making things up to make celebrities look bad isn't anything new but damn, that just sucks. I read somewhere that he's actually had quite a hard life, struggling with mental health and everything- and from what I've seen of interviews and bts so far he just doesn't strike me as a bad person tbh..
I've heard about the CITT thing I before just not in depth bc I'm not interested in it much, but that also sucks big time. I'd be hella mad if I was a fan of the webtoon. Thanks for summing everything up.
btw can anyone fill me in on the "controversy" regarding PHJ that was proven wrong? and maybe post some links with proof bc I want to get my friend to watch the drama but she's on the fence abt it because of all that πͺ
