The way the rating is so high and how people are literally eating this drama up just shows we haven't gotten a proper, well made tropey romcom in a long time! I'm feeling such 2016/2017 golden age of romcom dramas vibes from this show but it's in a way that doesn't feel old or overdone but instead super refreshing. A drama full of tropes doesn't mean a bad drama, tropes exist for a reason and become clichés when they are overused and badly executed but can improve the story when well executed.
This show proves that you don't need an extraordinary, out of the norm plot to capture viewers, you just need to do well with what you're given. Business Proposal isn't trying to be anything it's not, and I respect that :')
I usually always wait to binge dramas once they've stopped airing so I don't have to torture myself waiting for new eps to come out, but I was so in need of a good romcom I just had to start this and IT'S SO GOOD. Honestly the most fun I've had with a romcom in a long time!! Would anyone recommend reading the manhwa for this, or does it differ too much from the drama? Did they change much?
tbh I really don't understand what so many people have against him?? I'm currently watching two of his dramas (dr. romantic & business proposal) and his acting is totally fine, it's not groundbreaking so far but I enjoy watching him and he's believable in his roles! Don't know if it's just me but I keep hearing people complain about it and I don't see where the problem is honestly.
do you have to watch season 1 to watch this season? Or is it standalone?
you don't necessarily need to see s1 first before this because the plot is pretty stand alone but s1 is absolutely amazing, so I'd recommend watching it first! some of the context of s2 will also be easier to understand since most of the characters are from the first season so you'll know them better. plus, it's worth watching because the main character's (teacher kim) back story is explained in the first season.
I think Suki na hito ga iru koto is my worst rated too lol for similar reasons. Especially Kento's character made…
It's also my worst rated one! The only thing I remember from watching this drama is how angry I was half the time because of Kento's character, he pissed me off so much.
I’m glad this is airing I miss more romcoms like these
ikr, this has the exact feel I've been missing in 2021. not that i don't love all the intense, high quality dramas we've been getting recently but sometimes you just need a simple romcom like this!
Just watched the first two episodes - it's so much fun!! I really enjoy the editing for some reason. I didn't expect to like Kim Sejeong as much as I did but she's doing an amazing job. Also the secondary couple seems super interesting, can't wait to find out what's next for them. Ngl tho, besides the poster, the opening is also not really doing it for me but alas 😆 I wish this had more than 12 eps though.
Was anyone else annoyed by the ML more than FL here? I had no problems with FL at all. But besides his abrasiveness in the beginning, the ML kept going on and on about how ~crazy and unhinged~ he was the whole time and how he'll rip the villain to shreds once he gets him and everything. Obviously you can't really expect vigilante-type justice in these thriller dramas since the leads are cops but, I do wish he would've lived up to what he said at least little? Because why make him say all these things? The drama kept showing his "extreme side" the whole time and how he was willing to go over the line several times but was held back by others. But when it was time and he had the villain.. nothing really. I know the "I won't kill/shoot you because that's exactly what you want and I'm not giving you that" is a common trope, but man :s the ending just didn't satisfy me at all. The last scene with Mo Tae Gu was also a bit.. Did that really happen? Or was it just his imagination to show how he's gone insane over his actions? It was confusing to say the least. But overall it was still a thrilling drama and not boring at all. Kim Jae Wook easily carried the show for me though.
Does Won tak end up liking dali? Or was their friendship/sibling bond(?) stay til the end?
They stay friends til the end. There aren't really any hints he likes her as more than that, although he's very overprotective of her because her family took him in when he was younger.
Wow, last time I looked this drama had a 9.0 rating. It's surprising to see so many people not like it?? Over on r/kdrama people are literally raving about how much they love this drama all the time and no different anywhere else. It's always MDL that sticks out like a sore thumb huh? It might not be a 10/10 for everyone but I think the things that differentiate this drama from others within the "zombie" genre are exactly the things that make it better for me. I feel like most people want absolute action and suspense at ALL times (watch Kingdom or AOUAD instead then) and characters who never act stupid or irrational, when that's literally a staple in the zombie genre. This drama is much more realistic than most people want to admit and the "annoying characters" are more of a mirror held up in front us to schowcase what could be in such a situation, not all too unfamiliar due to the virus. I know plenty of neighbours and people who could end up behaving exactly like in this show. Another thing is I think to be really fully invested in the drama you need to be able to root for the main couple because their story is the most prevalent among all the characters. Most zombie dramas/film don't focus on a romance at all and I really love how they handled it in this one, it shows that romance CAN be possible and well executed even in a genre like this where it's rarely expected or even wanted. And Han Hyo Joo and Park Hyung Sik were absolutely perfect together.
I'm at ep 8, and I can't believe they pulled the amnesia trope this early 😭 I'm not sure if I like where it's going but I just hope the drama doesn't start going downhill from here.
