ngl i think the most unbelievable thing they did wasnt even lee heons unexplained appearance but his demented traumatized grandma regaining memory through homemade chocolate๐
I really liked the first 6 episodes and thats it..It could have have been so much better if they put more romance…
they're booing you but you're kinda right ๐ญ i also feel the romance was lacking. of course it's a cooking drama but it should still feel balanced and the romance should feel earned, but it didn't quite get there for me. the ming plot was definitely a bit too long.
I want to say, Director here is doing an AWESOME job too so we need to appreciate them too.In the scene he asked…
that's kim hee won for ya! she's seriously a god at her craft. she's done little women, crowned clown and vincenzo (my fav of all time) which all had superb directing
they stuck the landing! so much bloodshed in the last two episodes but i loved watching lee chaemin fight (blood looks good on him) and the directing and acting really got to shine โ i'd be surprised if this show leaves without at least one baeksang nomination. i'm so glad they kept the novel's ending, it's literally the exact same, including not saying "how that happened" because that was also never revealed in the novel. overall really enjoyable drama, not among my top shows but that's hard to do since i usually don't vibe with sageuks. i definitely do feel like if it wasn't for the 12ep format & the ming subplot being so long, the last stretch of episodes could have felt less rushed, they got all the important stuff done but i just felt a bit of whiplash. the romance also didn't fully "click" for me but it was still nice. the food was the real main character in this show. now, what would i give to get an entire sitcom style season 2 of lee heon trying to adjust to the 21st century... ๐
I might not like the direction the story is going, it is my personal likes. However, one thing about this drama…
same, i'm not fully on board with how some things went about but one thing about this show is that it's the first sageuk where i was actually able to sit down and watch all the way through, which is already saying a lot for someone who usually doesn't like them.
The romnce is a subplot surrounding the main theme ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ if it was meant to happen earlier won't it have…
i'm fully aware of all of that? i literally said it feels like that to me, you dont need to justify it being a subplot i've been following the show since before it started so i know that. but even as a subplot i want my romances to feel earned and it just doesn't feel deep enough to me - and wether a romance fulfills that standard depends mostly on time spent together, the gravitas of the leads' moments together and equal mutual reciprocacy. and BAYM just didn't do enough of that for me imho. if it works for you and all the others that's fine.
god this was SO MUCH FUN !!! one hell of an experience and so worth it going to the theater for. i was also wondering…
AND I CANT FUCKING BELIEVE. THAT I'VE SERIOUSLY BEEN RICKROLLED BY A KOREAN MOVIE ??? THAT WAS SO UNEXPECTED THE ENTIRE ROW I WAS SITTING IN ABSOLUTELY LOST IT
god this was SO MUCH FUN !!! one hell of an experience and so worth it going to the theater for. i was also wondering the whole time who the hell jinyoung would be portraying, since i've only seen some stills of him but color me surprised at the reveal lmao
