in terms of romantic thrillers, really really really recommend the judge from hell! saw it's not on your watchlist but it was my favorite drama last year and absolutely does these genres justice. the romance between the leads was to die for, it had everything!

there was lots of PR for the show domestically - not necessarily by disney, but there was tons of buzz through press + the actors already being a-listers, so the locals are all watching it, but the international side is definitely disappointing. you'd think they'd put in some more effort with the amount of money that went into this, also especially since they've had intl. hits with dramas like moving before. then again their marketing was never strong.

the spy female lead is still a remnant from early on where the synopsis was vague and it wasn't really clear what specific role she had

i finished ep 3 and this show is on its way to perhaps be my drama of the year. its so good??? the dialogue is so well done, the score is riveting, and i usually never give a damn about political thriller but here? jun ji hyun for fucking president oh my god. the scene in the train almost had me pass out with how tense it was. the scene where he watches her do her speech and then turn around and look at him from a distance and smiles also had me almost pass out. in general jun ji hyun and kang dong won's chemistry is so good i will probably be on the verge of passing out for the rest of the show. I LOVE IT!!!

genre drama + loveline is really always the best combination 👏🏻
