@Taylor_elle - Are you me? Haha, that's what I'm doing too! Except I've also watched the raws and read the book. I stopped at ep14 subbed. Waiting for end of this week to start up again.

You should've tagged that as a spoiler. XD;; I've read the books but I'm sure many peeps are just watching the DF subs.

I'd prefer watching it on Viki if it had the license but DF will do! It's certainly better than my very limited understanding from the raws. This just reminds me I need to start learning Mandarin again... for family! And dramas, haha.

Anybody like me, keeping up with the raws via Youtube's Croton's channel but holding off the DramaFever subs in segments? My Mandarin has is elementary at best but I just don't wanna be hanging sub-wise. I've watched up to episode 13 and stopped there. Waiting until ep 30 before I watch DramaFever eps so I don't have to suffer a waiting period with the second arc.

Also, love how sassy these characters are!

Yeah, he does but it's not fated love like with Bai Qian & Ye Hua. I could be wrong since I was only able to read summaries of the novel but there's love and true love/fated love.

She does something pretty awful. I'm guessing the drama has gotten to that part.

It's already been airing and you can watch full episodes on Youtube (as of today 2/7 1-16). But most peeps here are probably waiting for subs and DramaFever has the license. Started airing yesterday there~

Understandable. If you're looking to avoid tragedy, you should give Weightlifter Fairy Kim Bok Joo a try as the main couple is SO FREAKING CUTE and it's a great progression of the relationship (def no insta-love).

I don't think Goblin is a tragedy but it's not finished airing yet so who knows. I think the backstories of characters is tragic and there will be some melodrama but overall it's very romcom.

Have you watched Goblin (modern and historical kdrama)? It's a nice mix of drama and romcom. But if you want more romance/drama, you might like Princess Weiyoung (historical c-drama).

The romance in the show is all over the place. Granted, I failed out around eps 5-6 but the novels are so much better.

@Domo - But at least in the novels, there's a sense of progression. It's quick but it's not fooldhardy? If that makes sense.

@coming_dreams - We're on the same page! I failed out around eps 5-6 but I may dip back into it just for the costuming and location shooting.

I'm really disappointed in the series. :( I don't feel they developed the characters enough, let alone their romance. The main thing powering me through is the gorgeous costuming.
