I know some of the fan are disappointed. But I don’t really understand why. Can someone explain what people…
I think it's because people feel like they stretched out so much in the beginning and middle but will be rushing the ending because all the filler. I like a lot of what was tweaked for the show but I agree that they could have structured the pacing better so that the end section had matching filler or such. Now it feels like the ending will be rushed, especially in comparison to the pacing of the beginning and middle.
Does anyone know who's got the American license for this? I don't see anything about it on Netflix's upcoming releases (bummer!), Viki, or Dramafever. T_T
oh no. Viki has license? That probably means that current subbing will stop and those of us watching it now (subbed…
VIKI having a license is a good thing! It doesn't stop people from subbing episodes on the official Youtube channel. As of right now, up to #23 has been subbed on Youtube.
Keep in mind that VIKI has a delayed release for Bloody Romance for whatever reason. I think subbers usually stop subbing on YT because VIKI or DF started subbing and there won't be the timeline conflict here.
I dunno. I like having it on VIKI (or Dramafever if it goes both ways) because the translations are better. I feel like I'm missing a lot currently.
We're coming to an end RAW-wise next week! Can't wait for the english subs on Youtube to slowly catch up and double that for the VIKI subs come October (unsure why their license has such a delay for the US; I'm guessing it's on the studio side... maybe to boost their international numbers?).
Continuing my bare-bones channel at Youtube for English subtitling of the official episode preview clips released…
Thanks for subbing the previews! It gives me a faint idea of what's going on. My Mandarin is pre-school at best. I'm up to ep15 in raws but no idea what's going on, haha.
I don't understand how they could have worked BL into this unless it was a side-story. This is a very old Chinese…
Oh! Just to let you know, the BL couple you mention about 10 Miles of Peach Blossoms is canonical. It's only very subtly referenced in the drama due to Chinese laws but the original webnovel it's less subtle. Not outright like they're married or anything but very obviously caring about one another.
And the Demon King (in the beginning) actually falls in love/lust with the male disciple kidnapped (not Yang Mi's character, but her senior disciple).
I'm going to post a reply with spoilers from the book and show. This is for peeps that want to find book canon…
If you're just watching the show, it almost completely diverges from the book past ep16. There's no amnesia plot at all in the book. And what happens in 16 is almost the near-ending of the book with a few characters/plot points rearranged.
This makes ep 17+ really frustrating to me. I'm probably just going to wait for the show to complete and scrub through the rest. Canonically, Rong Zhi is crazy smart (evidenced by ep 1-16) so he doesn't get poisoned to forget and become his sister's 'puppet' slash 'sword'. Chuyu doesn't forget either. I definitely recommend reading the book breakdown I linked, as well as the scene translations. They're really great and show how much Rong Zhi loves her, and how much is was willing to manipulate in order for her to love him as much.

YWY fans - Just found this cute post about Lin Geng Xin: He is said to be very very shy. Fellow actors, Mark Chao and Feng Shaofeng, have mentioned in interviews that he is really shy. Most recently, Zhao Liying said that after shooting a kiss scene he ran away while covering his face. Fans of the drama also pointed out that even when shooting certain scenes you can see that his ears are really red. (more here: https://cnewsdevotee.wordpress.com/2017/06/19/feature-lin-geng-xin/
Also, apparently he's BFF with Mark Zhao aka, Ye Hua from Eternal Love / Three Lives Three Worlds: Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms!
Also, if anyone is looking for a cdrama to watch... I'm checking out Lost Love in Time via DramaFever! The set-up takes 5 episodes but it settles after that. Not the greatest but it's beautifully shot and has some great fighting and pretty decent to good CGI.
In short, another cdrama that had great potential that fell WAY short. :( . Here's hoping someone translates the novel to English faster just so I can read what happens after the lake.
Hi guys, please recommend others worthy C-drama (historical) to follow since Im still depressed having these withdrawal…
Nirvana in Fire - political intrigue, really great characters - a little slow-paced but it's soooooooooooooo good.
Legend of Lu Zhen - political intrigue, romance - Really, really intense with the political stuff.
Scarlet Heart - time travel, political intrigue, romance
A good drama - heavy on the love and for the hopelessly romantic. Ending a little rushed for my taste - another…
I'm hoping that due to the ending... we'll get a s2 for Pillow Book because Pillow Book starts with YH & BQQ's wedding. Although they'd have to change quite a bit since DHD & BFQ loveline is a bit different.

Someone else has also started translating the novel but it's not very frequent. Unsure if they'll finish because there's not much sponsorship:
