Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
E49. The tree-trunk-under-the-moonlight scene. I just re-watched it for the umpteen times. Noticed some interesting…
You'll probably be surprised to find an reply here after a long time. Hihi :D I watched the battle scene you mentioned. Frankly, it looks like you've said all the salient points. Since there is no one-on-one fight scene, the scene is a complete mess and it is a little unclear who is doing what. But the detail you said is really nice. While CG is chopping everyone in front of her, Madam (I forgot her name :D) neutralizes the men by hitting critical places with the surface of the sword, not the sharp part of it. And Langlang likewise uses his sword as a beating stick. And as far as I know, what's harder for a fighter than fighting a crowd like that is to fight them without hurting them. At a moment like this, it's easier to kill than to keep alive. Due to their philosophy of life, they prefer the difficult one. But at such moments, it is necessary to be careful while showing mercy to the enemy. Madam's momentary compassion and carelessness nearly killed her. They are already a treacherous group. And they repeat it whenever they get the chance.
By the way, in this drama where martial arts are very close to reality, I'm giving the award for the most supernatural fighter to Madam :D During this fight, she qualified to become the most and longest flying fighter throughout the series. She flies and jumps quite far in a single stride XD Haha... Especially here, these kind of unrealistic points draw my attention more now. But I can tolerate this much.😎
In the continuation of this, I will say one more point that I like for the part where CG continues to fight alone. İn general, at scenes where one person is fighting against many people, there is one thing always that annoys me! In just about every scene like this I watch, the character fights those in front of him/her while the other men around him and standing behind him watch him as if it's a duel between the two. Shouldn't you all be jumping on him and try to kill!! Why is the hand of those behind picking pears while he is busy with the man in front of?! Throw a knife or something from behind him if you're afraid of coming across the back of his sword!! I don't know, just do something!! XD Why are all these men idly waiting for him to just beat the person in front of him and then it will be their turn?! This seems ridiculously illogical to me. 😑 But most of the time that's how they shoot these scenes. It's the same with modern fighting dramas apart from the sword. All the men surrounding him are of no use, after all, the character will fight those in front of him and we will finally be convinced that he has defeated dozens of others alone... Huh! X'D
What I like where CG fights alone is that it's not like that. Okay, again, not all of them jump on her, yes, but the men behind- right and left her, are trying to injure her while CG fights those in front of her. One gets cuts to her waist and one to her hind leg, and CG falls to the ground. So these kinds of things happen, which is what makes sense. They might be doing it in the other illogical way I described, probably because this realism creates too much confusion on scene and obscures the some fighting moves on the screen or it has dispersed the focus to multiple places (they have to convey the movements of the other men as well as the fight with the man in front of her/him, etc.). I do not know. Whatever the reason, that type of scene seems silly and unlogical to me. I don't remember clearly the situation in other mass fight scenes here. But I guess similar things happened in Shozou when CG was fighting for A'dou's revenge. Because AS had shot down the man who was about to attack from behind her. 😎

Exactly!! After this, I started to think that I wouldn't be able to watch xianxia type fantasy martial arts stuff anymore.. when I watched the fluent, realistic and well-designed movements here. So much so that even in this drama, the scenes that such as slightly far from realistic -very high jumping or flying a little further etc.- which are evident in such fight scenes, started to scratch my eyes the second time I watched it. But also it's TLB, that got me to this point :D In the past, I would never care such unreality as this and in fact that much would can seem realistic to me, because I was used to all kinds of exaggerations and winged-like swordsmen who emulate birds X') Our standards have changed completely after seeing warriors who put feets on the ground here XD I don't know, maybe cause I loved this martial arts here so much I'm exaggerating :')

Life after TLB:-Start a new drama, force myself to sit through 2-3 episodes, give up, got back to TLB - rewatch…
I tried watching something too. I guess it was the wrong choice. I could only endure five minutes!! Why does the girl keep grinning silly and why does the guy fly so much while fighting when it's not so fantasy!! I closed it almost like I opened it. :/
After seeing the martial arts here, I guess I won't be able to put up with the weird moves that fly in weather anymore :'(

I think the same way. Capturing the details is good. But one should not overlook the others that make that detail meaningful. Otherwise will see it as a logic error (in this case). Also, long series can have many logic errors in general, but it's really interesting to catch a trivial one and therefore throw that all away. Ah whatever XD

Hahaha XDD This criticism seemed so absurd that I went and checked that scene and its environs a bit. She or he doesn't really seem to have bothered to reason and watch properly. Before the cloak scene is there the scene where his men report to AS at night, in the secret house where AS is staying. All of them were scattered throughout the city and gathered information for the daytime. At night, they must wear black cloaks presumably to hide their faces, they came together at secret house, and report to Tegin. Also AS probably entered that house at night too after the juju game, cecause they were in the palace during the day. They all must have stayed there for the night, since they dispersed into the city the next day together. Should they carry with them two cloaks for day and night!! They already have black cloaks from the previous night. So they used their cloaks to wander through a few 'secluded alleys' 'covered with sheets' where there was 'no one' and threw them off there where' no one saw them' anyway! Normally, after the juju game, they would probably go back to the grassland, but in the cloak scene, we understand that AS see the situation there was volatile and something was going on, so he left the job of reporting to Khan to Su Yushi and decided to stay in the city and gather more information. So from now on, they're going to need a cloak for the daytime as they're going to be there a little longer. Yoro already wearing a light-colored cloak in the scene where he is followed. In the continuation of the same scene, AS is wearing a light-colored cloak to hide his face while running away from the inn. If s/he had watched a few more episodes, s/he could have seen AS and others wearing a light-colored cloak during the day... Then s/he can continue to watch with peace of mind without black cloaks at daytime XD
Also, even before I looked at this scene again, I was sure there would be a scene where they get together the night before. Even if that scene is not there, one can reason that such a situation exists. If you're going to criticize something in terms of logic, at least your criticism should be logical or should watch a little carefully. But even if we had told her all this stuff, she'd probably say that 'but.. that.. this..' This is already a ridiculous point to get stuck or harp on from the very beginning. Even if there were no logical explanations, this is still going to be a cool scene where the grassland men in disguise will walk in slow motion as a cohesive crew with dark clothes and gazes.🐱‍👤 I would rather ignore such a small point than compromise our visual taste :D We need these cool scenes for cool MVs you know!!😎 If those cloaks were cream color, would this dark atmosphere tough guys and cool scene have the same effect!! They criticize rather than appreciate that they presented this cool scene to us in the most logical way. XD

ah no problem..:D
actually my point is mostly for the first episodes. The times when they collided in this street that street and somehow met in every city. I understand that the screenwriter had to somehow bring the two together, and I wasn't complaining either. It was just a direction that screamed 'script' at some points. It makes you question whether such coincidences are actually possible, but also in real life, if two people are destined for each other, they somehow come together and I have heard very interesting stories about it. So I didn't find it completely unreasonable either :D

Apt title! We can use this name for all the episodes where HD is chasing CG :P

We like; 'The atmosphere is already tense, at least you don't come!!!' 🤦‍♀️ My mom always says 'Uhh he's here again!!!' XD
and btw.. You cameee!! 😀😀😀 Does that mean you've finished your works and come back or is it just a little fling? 😏 I think second one :'(

"I do find it strange that our Li Changge will be walking in the woods in the middle of nowhere and she would somehow bumped into Ahsile Sun."

It's really quite a lot for the two to coincide.😀 My inner voice when I watched it for the first time and in this one too, when the two of them came together in that cabin; 'Really!! Congratulations!!.. You two managed to encounter again in a deserted hut in a corner of the big forest!!' XD I mean.. somehow they always pass the same roads...too many coincidences :D

I watch from some small sites that translate it into my own language and there are no ep titles there. I was even surprised when songfalcon first mentioned it.. I was like 'How so!! Did every episode had a NAMEEE!!' :D Which usually the episodes have names in dramas, but since I've never come across it, it didn't occur to me that it could be in this one as well. 😅

Actually, what I said about the name of the episode was a bit of a joke. 😀 For some reason, the running and chasing events in the episode made me laugh a lot, and since we were dealing with names for a while, I thought I'd make a reference there :D

One thing I like about this show is that misunderstandings don't turn into bottomless wells. In the beginning,…
Actually, although I find it superficial, I didn't have much of a problem with Leyan. Because she didn't stay that way. Again, without getting too rude, she got stronger and gained experience while maintaining her usual courtesy. Everyone is of different character. So it was an admirable change for that type of person. But the thing that pisses me off the most throughout the series... All the other characters in the series kept saying to her at least 10 times 'You've grown up Leyan'... 'You're not the same as before Leyan'... 'You've matured Leyan'... 'I can see how much you've changed, Leyan'... This change should be noticed and confessed by the audience, not by the hundred characters in the series. At first I didn't care, but when it's past three or five, the cries of "Enough, we understand that she've changed, we can see it too, you don't have to say it a hundred times' kept throbbing in my brain. 😂 I don't get it if they thought that we wouldn't understand Leyan's change..🤓 Whereas we are people who even could clearly understand the all details of CG's maturation journay. 😎

I generally had no problem with showing or not showing those parts as real scenes. As I said, my only problem in this regard is scenes that they combine the two. But you seem to be logical in your own way. It wouldn't be bad to see the downfall of an enemy as real.
