wow, can't wait for next week. I'm old enough not to get too emotional over a show, but I can't refrain myself from it. I know it's not a flawless drama, and neither are its characters, but that's the thing, they feel so real!

Yea, but would you sympathize with the one who killed or tried to kill your father and yourself? It makes no sense whatsoever, I find it ludicrous

Let's just agree to disagree, I'm not trying to convince you of anything, because there's no such thing as right or wrong in dramaworld, it just comes down to personal taste and that's something you can't really argue about. I have yet to see that perfect drama that will please everyone. We all have different triggers and what works for me may not work for you and I got that. We can keep debating about their chemistry or the lack of it till tomorrow, but at the end of the day one can either see it or don't.

Lol, kind of. Let's put it simple, he shoots her, he shoots her father, and yet we still have a romantic plotline going on between them? Heck, and to think there are people who find wrist grabbing disturbing. But this.. this is takin' it to another level

I don't think he's apologizing for taking part in the drama, LOL, but rather because he thinks that he wasn’t able to meet people's expectations in terms of acting. It has nothing to do with him believing that this drama is bad, as you make it sound, in fact he said that he learned a lot of different emotions through his character, moreover had a valuable time. And so did I, thanks to him : D

While I do love messed up characters, I belive the writer is taking things too far - too fast. What this drama should have been called is ode to a psychopath, it's getting ridiculous.

As I said, I personally belive the writing is excellent, but everyone has their own opinions and interpretations. I'm somehow familiar with LKH's writing style, giving that I've seen most of her dramas and I honestly belive she's one of the finest screenwriters in Korea, but that's not to say she's for everyone, on the contrary. One can either love her characters to pieces, either find them irritating, because they can't relate to them or their actions. I fall in the first category, obviously, but I can see why there are people who find it hard to understand them. Secret indeed was a good melodrama, but from a different league. Was a lot more dynamic and If I had to pick a LKH drama to compare it with, I'd go with Nice Guy. Although Secret > than Nice guy, I find that UF is better than both of them altogether.

It really is upsetting, but the truth of the matter is that he shouldn't have accepted this role. Heck, I feel bad for saying this, but he is also one of the reasons why this drama flops. Not because he's not good enough acting-wise, on the contrary, he's doing an amazing job, but as I said on a previous post, most of his fans are too young to enjoy a slow-paced melo, moreover since they were expecting something different from him, most probably a rom-com. They feel cheated and that inevitably leads to uncalled hate and biased criticism towards the drama as a whole. Pretty unfair, but it is what it is. Although I personally have no complaints in terms of acting, I honestly belive that this drama would have been better off with a different cast, because really, the script is good (LKH is a well known and acclaimed writer), the music is good, the directing is good and for all I care even the pace is good.

No harm intended, but if you made it to the 8th episode and you're still not feeling it, I think it's obvious that this drama isn't your thing. Hence, I'm sure no one from the production crew is forcing you to keep watching, especially since you do it for free.
Personally I was drawn in from episode one, but I can see how this type of drama is not everyone's cup of tea.

I belive the biggest mistake this show made was casting idols - although both kwb and suzy are doing a good job, melos - especially slow paced melos like UF - usually appeal to a more mature audience, and giving the fact that many of suzy's and kwb's fans are in the 20 and below age range, it's only natural that some of them might get disappointed and frustrated; its just isn't hitting its target.
I'm 28 years old and I'm enjoying this a lot, but then again, I've had my share of silly rom-coms and fluffy romances to the point that they don't strike a chord anymore. That's not to say I wasn't big on them a few years back, just that I can't relate to them anymore - now, on the other hand, I get hype whenever a more serious drama comes forward. I'd just put it on hold for a few years if I were you and move to something else for the time being.

PS. asian culture / parenting is a lot different than western parenting, so I wouldn't judge things that easily

Having an android designed for love-making was a pretty new and original idea back in the day too, yet absolute bofriend never hit the tops. Idk, obviously I'm a minority, but I just don't see the brilliancy in W in terms of plot and I honestly belive that people tend to overrate this show mostly because they are anime/manga fans. That's not to say I'm not enjoying it, it's a decent drama, but no way worthy of the first position. Not in my book, at least, but to each it's own, I guess.

I'm not too fond of the mom either, she's far from perfect, but she's real (there are way too many parents who push their kids to follow the path they think is right, especially in Asia) and adds complexity to the story - part of the reason why I find their love-hate relationschip challenged and makes me even more curious for the story to unfold and see her reaction : )

Though I agree with most of what you said, I don't belive the idea is brilliant, nevertheless very (and truth to be told, this drama gets so much praise mostly because people think it's utterly original). From where I stand, it's as original as absolute boyfriend and rooftop prince were, glamorous on the surface, but nothing wow or new underneath.

Acting wise, HHJ especially is a disappointment and I loved her in Iljimae and Dong Yi. Perhaps that's her role, but she reminds me of those chinese actresses who overreacts to the smallest things.

Heck, the idea in itself isn't that brilliant, just a different coat to the same old fantasy theme - as if ghosts, witches, mermaids, aliens and fusions weren't enought, a cartoon character was the only thing missing. Hence, even kill me heal me was more original than this, not to mention the spectacular acting. And no, I'm not trying to bash W, I'm just stating my opinion to why I belive this drama is overrated.

I'm not a hater, but come on, there are far better dramas out there than W, most of the people who brought it to the top are probably teens or very young adults who still watch animes and read mangas on a daily basis. This show is just a bit over average, 1 litre of tears and nirvana on fire were more worthy of the 1st place position, although I wouldn't call myself a fan of either.

Yea, my thoughts exactly. I admit I'm a bit biased towards the writer, because I love her style a lot and from where I stand, she's one of the finest in terms of script and the one who wrote one of the greatest dramas ever, sorry I love you, but that's not to say that I blindly love all of her dramas. It just happens that UF works perfectly to me :)
