Ep 3 really outdid the previous ones. I still stand by what I said before, but the connection between them is…
Agreed but sadly most of the original source are also short 😭 I hope they adapt longer manga series in the future.

Wait, he killed two people but named his mother, father and sister. So is what I'm thinking true?! 😳😳😳😳
Basically, his older sister was raped by her own father and then she gave birth to Odajima, making her both his sister and mother 😭

Gaga's subs are a bit off and Odajima doesn't say he regarded his mother as his older sister, but he always believed…
Yes, I was gonna point this out too... He said "I killed my father and my elder sister who turned out to be my mother" implying that he was a child born from incest rape, which he also add that he was "a child that should've never been born"... but the subs not be that on point. 😭

First off, I'm enjoying it so far. I like mafia BL (Kinnporsche, Long Time No See, The Bangkok Boy) so I know…
Maybe you missed some details in this episode but per Kirii's conversation, he thinks Kataoka is his father's secret son and that his father loved Kataoka more than him (per the flashback) cause his dad only smiles with Kataoka. He's trying to get rid of Kataoka because if Kataoka is his elder brother then Kataoka will succeed the Yakuza family over him...

Odajima: ''I only kissed someone in the past, nothing more.. *_*''Also Odajima: *gave a bj to his aniki in flashback…
Yeah, this was a mistranslation on Gaga ... he said "i've only ever used my mouth" (referring to bj and not kissing)

Episode 3 was a surprise for me. Unlike manga it gave the explanation about why Odajima killed his family and…
Odajima's past in the manga lacks dialogue so it was little confusing. I remember having to study the panel for a while to understand what happened.

I'm really enjoying it. I like watching series without imposing my own moral views on everything, and instead…
This is what I wanted to say too :) I think people are consuming media too much from their own perspective and not the characters' perspective.

Yes, hopefully 🙏 or they could switch around the timing ... we'll prob know by episode 3.

I just realized they didn't include them breaking the car from s*x before taking the ferry lol :) I wonder if it would get added in still?

This has a very happy ending in the manga :) The opening sequence actually spoiled it a bit, I think.

I'm more confused as to what people were expecting to find in a romance about Yakuza? Like were we expecting a…
I get what you mean but I don't think the Yakuza are not going to experience romance the same way normal people do... they are more immune to crimes and sexual violence than us and I don't think it's exactly romanticizing the SA... I think it's strange that people are more concerned about the SA than the fact that they're both murderers.

WHY are people getting mad at those upset with the SA?? Them just excusing it bc it's a yakuza drama is stupid...…
I'm more confused as to what people were expecting to find in a romance about Yakuza? Like were we expecting a sweeter love story cause that would actually romanticize Yakuza more than the SA. We can't go watching a show about immoral criminals, and expect morals and then get mad that they're not the good people we wanted them to be.

I’ve noticed that some viewers have already spoken up about the sexual assault in The Journey To Killing You,…
I'm surprised people are surprised by the SA; this is the world of criminals. They brutalize people, kill people, violate people...etc. They are not law abiding citizens. If people are uncomfortable watching anything about organized crimes in general, the Yakuza genre is definitely not recommended.

The series feels really low budget. I understand that Japanese BL has its own unique style, but this one just…
I think you misunderstood a bit... Odajima is the one who go penetrated in the first scene (he's the bottom in the story)... Kataoka sees Odajima as a way to relieve his sexual frustration because there's no other women around, and Odajima don't resist nor protest because he's a low rank yakuza. This is common in the Yakuza world.

Well, slow pacing is the norm for slice of life and human drama genre. Hang in there if you don't want to give up :)

Ep 10 is the most episode though. It's a philosophical discussion on the loneliness epidemic in Japan.
Haha this frustrates me sometimes too when I see people whose only complaint for a bl drama is that it lacks kissing or sexy scenes. BL dramas should be allowed to have variety as much as het dramas do, but lots of viewers seem to put it in a box. I haven't watch a single BOC drama honestly because its a bit too explicit for my taste.

I don't wanna drop it but tbh this is one of the most slow paced bl I've ever seen....
I personally think its closer to a human drama genre rather than BL romance, so if that's not your type of genre, it's probably safe for you to not continue.
