Can we talk about Yu Jiang (CEO of Qi Li)? Everybody was replaceable for him until this episode where he realizes that he lost everybody around him... That was what I call a top notch development!
I honestly think this is such an underrated show. I'm only 14 episodes in but the acting, story, OST and cinematography…
Don't know if you've watched until the end but the bits with the burdensome father and overdramatic Lin Xiang annoyed me. Apart from that, it's a near perfect drama!
Yes, that's exactly how I have felt about what Shi Guang is going through. Worst still, he can't talk about it.…
Yes! And I would have been very disappointed if Shi Guang had got over Chu Ying easily! Whenever someone ask about something that reminds him of Chu Ying, Shi Guang's smile fade off, which is unusual from him... My little heart can really relate to him...
I'm curious about "the ending falls flat" because I heard it several times. Why do you think so? (personally,…
Totally agree! The break down period is really important and thorough. I think people in general want 'depression phase' to end quickly in dramas like this one, especially since Shi Guang is usually such a carefree sunshine! But, that's life! As they said and illustrate very well with all the twists and turns that Shi Guang faces in the drama: 'There is ups and down all through our lives'.
I felt too that Shi Guang and Yu Liang relationship was lacking. Because suddenly, after 9 years staring stonily at each other, they become great friend holding hands? Even speaking about the cinematography: Shi Guang and Yu Liang were separated and not often on the same frames for 30 episodes. All at once, they're holding hands, making eyes at each others and sweet talking... I couldn't really buy it, I admit it. From rivals/initiators to best friends/partners in crime, this couple lack a slick development contrary to the patiently crafted relationships in the precedent episodes.
But despite the fact that the last episodes could have been better, I still think that it was very well and efficiently conducted. I feel complete and very satisfied.

Thank you for your sincere opinion! I get it now. I already saw AvenueX's review but I guess I couldn't believe my own ears haha... On reflexion, I can understand the problem with the flow, it seems a bit rushed and fractured, indeed. And I too wanted more time between Shi Guang and Chu Ying. But, I didn't felt it when watching the drama because it was nonetheless a clean mastered ending (billions far better than the extreme majority of rushed endings out there). For the breakdown part, I think that was the least they had to do because losing Chu Ying was like mourning someone's precious life lost. And I was - and still am - so heartbroken, I would still be a mess 6 months after these event, if I was Shi Guang.
I'm totally open for another season with witnessing Chu Ying and Shi Guang making a name for themselves, Chu Ying when coming back in Southern Liang ; Shi Guang overtaking Yu Liang! But it won't happen.... *so sad*
I guess it's futile to cry until there's English subs....
