After reading the novel and loving it, I was a bit scared to start this drama, but I think they did a good job so far (status: ep 8). They changed a few scenes and characters, but I am still enjoying it very much.
I have finished it, but couldn't get into it. I didn't like the story that much. Maybe the slight triangle and the magic aspect put me off. Also I kind of didn't like the way they fell in love. The character of Vee and his scenes with the grandma and the doctor were quite enjoyable, but I somehow disliked the character of San. Overall, this might just not be my cup of tea story-wise. I hope Daou and Offroad get a better story next time.
not sure how exact the drama will be in following the book, but for me its neither a happy nor a sad ending. They will get married at the end it seems (There is a hukou ikon over the last episode in the airing schedule). But then again lots of characters will die (at least in the novel). You can find a translation of the novel on wattpad if you are curious. But even just reading the very last chapter made me cry.
Ok, after watching the first three episodes and spoiling myself with the novel ending, I am officially deciding to binge this on February 19th with a box of tissues.
It was painful to watch Dunk yesterday in terms of acting whereas Khaotung nailed it with his performance. Atleast…
I feel like the biggest part why I didn't like the crying scene was actually not Dunks acting and rather the misplaced sound effects. When I watched on mute it was much better actually.
I feel like what most of you forget in all your red flag/ green flag discussion is that this is a month long edited tv show. Their every move is filmed and cut together to create a story that's 40 minute long. There are definitely parts of each persons personality that are missed or portrayed wrongly just so it fits into the tv shows narrative. I don't think its our place to judge if someone is bad or needs therapy as we don't really know that person well enough.
It's from the second episode where they talked after working at the coffee truck. In the scene the two talk about how they start relationships and conclude that they have very different approaches. I think it would have been better if this scene had made it into the show.
Alright.. the ending... could have been better but it's not that bad. At first I was like wtf is this cookie cutter ending with Phee and Jin being happy and forgiving Thee. Thank god we had that last scene at the lake. I think half of the friends being dead and the other half totally crazy, is a fitting ending. Poor White though, Fluke as well (sure he just stood by and watched, but the ending he received was a bit too much for me.). While a few things were left unanswered,I felt like the ending still fit into the whole story.
The series is by no means perfect but for a main cast with entirely new actors who had little to no acting experience and a difficult storyline, I think it is pretty decent. Sure they could have given more explanations and improve on some details but overall it was very entertaining.
I really liked it and will definitely miss it next saturday. Also kudos to Barcode his acting is awesome I hope he will have more dramas in the near future.
Ok my theory for the last epiosde: After everyone is drugged they have illusions made up from their guilty consciousness. Fluke definitly feels guilty because of the video, (I am curious to find out the whole story behind that). Phee feels guilty for telling Non to go die. Jin feels guilty for filming Non and the teacher. Fluke feels guilty about the camera and the video. White has an illusion about being ugly (Mhm, I hope they tell us the origin behind this). Thee, well he probably feels guilty about a lot of things.
Tan might have never trusted Phee form the beginning. Maybe he told him the wrong info about the joints, like he said the one with an X is the poisoned one but what if it actually holds the cure?
I think what makes the drama so engaging is that we don't have black and white characters. They all have multiple layers and play with our definition of morality. I think deciding who is good and bad is something we decide individually since we all look at things differently. Some see only the bad side of someone while some may overlook them and feel pity. All in all, I think every character has something they feel guilty about, I am curious to know how they deal with the guilt. Nearing the end of the series I have to say that the new actors really improved and I am defintely looking forward to other dramas. (Just hopefully not one that is as depressing, outrageous and sad as this one)
Yeah I think it is an illusion, I guess next week we'll see multiple illusions in connection to the drug they…
No in the scene (ep. 11) the one that was shocked was Jin and Fluke saw Jin being shocked (his imagination), similar to the scene were Jin filmed Non and the teacher.

I actually don't think White is on Tans side. He has no motive for helping Tan. Even love wouldn't be enough to help someone kill (without being a psyco that is). I think the people having sex is just an illusion that FLuke's mind came up with. Since Jin looked shocked it had to be either Non or Phee. But like I said I don't think it was a real event and just a trick of Flukes imagination.
wtf was that preview and who was having sex ? was the sex an illusion of Jin? wtf is happening and why the hell…
Yeah I think it is an illusion, I guess next week we'll see multiple illusions in connection to the drug they inhaled. We'll probably also find out if Fluke really is just a bystander or not.

Netflix Japan has added subs to the live stream
