Dear gawwwd the amount of dialogue Rowoon had in episode 4 alone, daaamn. His deadpan delivery with no filter whatsoever about his feelings cracked me up so much. I have so much fun with this drama, bless. It also helps that it has the fated/reincarnated lovers trope which, when well done i love. So it ticks all the boxes and is hilarious with ML being the most involuntary lovesick puppy ever and FL being annoyed as hell by it 🤣

Also this could have been very icky in regards of consent/manipulation if SML had drunk the potion without being none the wiser. But with Shin Yu being aware why he acts this way and fighting against being a lovesick puppy for her in wanting to break the spell, they sidestepped that issue well imo. I also like the theme of free will vs destiny and challenging it and of course later on there will be the question of "are these feelings real or is it still the spell/destiny manipulating me?" which is gonna be interesting in their dynamic <3

Oh same. TRHC alone is always wearing me down each weekend with its perpetual and circular misery (cant wait for it to be over atp), so i appreciate lighter dramas in between. Really enjoy this one and Shin Yu's unwanted descent into (falling haaaard into) love hahaha. Such a tsundere 🤭

i really enjoy their bickering enemies to lovers dynamic "Don't worry. You are not half as attractive as pork meat to me!" Also lmao at the scene where she tried to catch the book out of Rowoon's hands with his 1,96 m height and when this OBVIOUSLY failed tickled him. Heh, they are fun already.

this dumbass hack rendering the leads passive and stupid is one of my many disappointments with this drama. Because it was an active writing choice in order to make his demon faves shine instead, at every turn 🤮 And now where all is unveiled, they get three minutes yelled at, but that's as far as consequences reached for them. Almost immediately afterwards they are rewarded again: Shithead with the rotten fruit arc and delusion debbie with the most hamfisted and piss-poorly constructed "redemption arc" i had ever the misfortune to witness with my own eyeballs. Everything they had done for 40 eps plus is handwaved away in a blink of an eye, was always just a fickle of your imagination to begin with shhhhhht. Like i am aware how kdrama is very reluctant to ever punish the villains accordingly, but even to these shitty standards it is wooooow the woooooorst.

And even outside of that, I am so so sick of all the crying every episode what basically amounts to misery p*rn at this point that keeps repeating every episode. Joy is completely dead in this drama and only the villains reign supreme and/or get magically redeemed and then rewarded in a blink of an eye, while the leads are subjected to suffering only. This writer is the wooooooooooorst.

The reason why i can't wait for TRHC to be over and Hyosim replacing it is also bc Hyosim also looks like it is written in this century and age instead of idk 1950 like The Real Has Come. In hindsight, TRHC had even for it more conservative viewership veeeeeery backwards and outdated attitudes/views about adoption, child rearing w/o the biological father involved, bloodlines in general (always portrayed as superior/better,) women being (single) mothers and pursuing career (nope!), women being more than doormats, doing things on their own without the help of a man, (god beware cant have that) Plus bullies being shown as right/getting what they want if taken by force while others cower, and (emotional) abuse, harassment and stalking being super trivialized etc etc etc etc While weekenders before it in the past few years shared conservative views and filial piety values, it has never been to this extreme and THIS patriarchal/sexist with its narrative.

Worst of all is that it was all disguised as "progressive" and "social criticism" in the narrative at first, yikes. Not sure if i ever would trust a male writer for a weekender again, tbh. Bc at this point im not surprised that the stalking creep JH has become the writer's pet, bc this char seems to reflect his attitude and view of the world perfectly with how he lobotomized all female characters in taking away all of their agency and made them cower and defer to the male chars in there at all times. Yikes. Fucking Yikes.

Currently zooming thru watching Homemade Love Story which is SUCH a nice palate cleanser in comparison to the over-encumbered, literal shit show of misery here with 50 problems piled on the leads at once, characters crying all the time and the dog the gongs were related to is dead also, poisoned by the villains so it cannot give away their secrets buried in the backyard, oh no. But i heard the cousin's sister's friend them uncle saw it happening, so we may get a hint about it in 15 eps of characters running in a circle, parroting the same lines, just wordmixed to fool you into thinking something actually happened. I think he is related to the Gong's as well and can magically hug the secret out of people. So here is hoping for progress and that we will all find out maybe in 10 eps already, yall. 🙃

Yeah it was never about Haneul or "being a father." He does not give a single shit about that in his obsession. It was always about assuaging his ego and winning over TK and have control over YD thru the child. Which is why i call what the shithead is doing "trying to collect YD&HN for his doll collection, and wear their skins" like the creep he is. Since shithead is treating them like objects and prizes to gain, not people with their own wishes, needs and opinions (in YD's case)

He is not even fit or manages to be a decent human with his narcissism, harassment, blackmailing, emotional abuse and stalking, least of all being a "father." He is, if at all, dna giver, not more and Haneul can count all her blessings she has Taekyung as father instead.

oh god sher why are you doing it to yourself? Watching this nonsense fully and without skipping? You are best advised to only stop for eps 40/41 with their marriage reg and then best jump right to the upcoming (minute of) ending. Bc nothing of value happens in these episodes, absolutely NOTHING but a circular and superfluous misery wankfest and the writer salivating over the worst character JH he probably sees himself in, since he gets all the spotlight while he is shitting on TK. JH is a total writer's pet, ughhh.

The best scenes and only ones that matter are the ones with Taekyung and Haneul, bc he is best dad and loves the kid so damn much (the only "romance" that works in this drama too lmao)

Saaaame, it really sounds good with a strong FL that hopefully does not turn into a husk of herself halfway through. And hopefully stays consistently good then too, unlike TRHC which went to shit in all regards. I am definitely skipping the weekender after HSIL tho, not watching anything of the YLAG writer, nope.

oh no prob at all. Just watch or try it at your leisure or don't watch them at all. No pressure, up to you. But i feel the family drama with Ha Joon in September gonna be good, so it may be worth trying that at least :)

Tldr: The romance had never room to grow or even breathe because it got perpetually drowned in misery and never resurfaced from that. Thus it died of suffocation before it ever had any chance to bloom. The true "no touch couple" wasn't in Mr. Queen, it is here, in The Real Has Come, lmao. Just badly written/directed like everything else. Because even married they are more like awkward roommates raising a baby together than anything resembling a romantic couple, lol 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️

(But again, we should blame the shitty writer for that, not the lead actors. They are fine in the bts scenes) A good example as to how distance is created and kept between them is the writing choice of them STILL addressing each other with honorifics after being MARRIED, which is so fekkin weird.

Depends what you watch... there are so many different kinds, after all. My faves so far are Once Again and Five Enough, which are both heartwarming family tales with multiple couples and romance. But generally, as said, the pacing, character and relationship development is different/slower than in regular 16 eps kdrama due to the span of story/plot. Plus characters often start out as their worst selves, even more than in regular kdrama, but change gradually and more realistically (if written well) which is satisfying to see. All of it requires patience from your side tho, but just give it a try for yourself then? Here is a pretty good list with family/weekend dramas available:

Oh, if you have patience with the story and character development, since the pacing is always slower in family dramas, you won't regret it <3 He starts out as a bit of an ass in there, but he becomes a puppy and caring/doting family man in the end, who is loving his wife a lot, hehe.

I think it is to early to judge this show in general with only 2 eps being out atm since these are just the set up for the story. Btw, but if you like fated love/reincarnation stories with fantasy and comedy definitely check out "From Now On Showtime" it should be right up your alley then. This underappreciated drama has everything and deserves more love <3

I have seen the sml for about 10-15 min in eps 2-3 and i already hate him. He is shady af, and trying to use her feelings for him to manipulate her where he want to have her. Insincere shady asshole, at least ML is upfront about it. (He is also an ass rn, but at least he will change with time and start caring for her, which i am doubt sml will ever do)
