well this just proves to me that this dumbass writer is incapable of balancing story-arcs of the characters, least of all equally. Which is the most important narrative necessity in a family drama, a writer needs to use and handle well. Its lack in TRHC becomes even more apparent when you watch another family drama on the side which does that well. In my case it is homemade love story, where all the characters' stories and relationships are progressing little by little each eps... as it should be. Instead, you know, to rename the whole drama in favor of a singular character hogging all the screentime being an obnoxious creator's pet like we see here happening.

It is just sheer incompetence of the writer + glaring favoritism. Not a good and even less entertaining mixture.

Understandable. I just want it to be over to be able to watch Hyosim at the weekends instead since the follow up weekender does not seem to be such a backward ass outdated family drama where all joy is dead and harassment/threats/stalking is rewarded with becoming the creator's pet and never face any consequences as characters cower to him.

YUUUUP. Around 55 minutes of 69 he was present, great right? 🙃 The only ones where this insufferable shithead is not present in the lead couple scenes is where they are in the restaurant (but mentioning JH), talking in their bed (but about JH, of course) and when they invited the families over for a nice dinner, not talking about JH for once. But WORRY NOT he made his appearance there very quickly, because the writer cannot have you miss out on his fave and beautiful presence for more than three minutes. 🤮 🤮 🤮

An advantage of this shithead being a complete and utter creators' pet is that i literally can finish watching an episode in 10-20 minutes since a few weeks lmao,

well this is not a good kdrama and by now the worst family drama i have seen bc there is nothing family about it, nor what makes weekenders a good watch/apart from regular kdrama so yeah.

Nope, no recap not worth it. I made several posts here ranting regarding today's content which was basically another writer's pet show. Hence 50-55 minutes annoyance and 10 minutes of good scenes, which will all end now since the kim junha show continues tomorrow and him kidnapping Haneul it seems. I am tired.

Yeah and it is not only that, it is the lack of agency Yeondoo is rendered with while those two men fight for HER child in the worlds longest and most annoying pissing contest. Anyone is having their say and demands, anyone except for the actual custodian parent.

As Crissy said so fittingly below, the one scene at the memorial where YD was the most agency given to her in regards of her child since Haneul's birth. But it was also the only thing she did, nothing happened since as she reverted back to being an extra regarding her child while ONLY the men or elder talk about Haneul and what should happen with her.

This hack of a writer definitely loves the demon duo and hates the leads. Today was once more insufferable 55 minutes of Kim Juhha (pity party) show with maybe 10 minutes of enjoyable scenes pertaining the lead cp and family. But of course his most favorite character had to have the last word and scene as he crashed the fam gathering and characters happiness once more with TK/YD staring dumbly at the doorbell screen instead to simply leave this asshole on read and continue eating. Writer does not allow such disrespecting behavior toward his fave, of course.

As for delusion debbie? I just skip all her scenes now as i refuse to partake in the world's worst "redemption arc" Fuck her.

Yeah just mention it because the argument as to why they are so distant with each other is because they don't know each other for very long. Which is kinda nonsense bc in other fam dramas with better writing and appropriate focus on developing them as a couple you also have the leads knowing each other for a few weeks at most. But the difference is there is a continuous build up to their romance instead of killing it off again and again at various points in the story as it happened in TRHC.

As i said before the most they have ever felt like a romantic couple was after her nearly losing the baby but this dumbass writer completely killed it off with that premature timejump and YD running away/ghosting TK for a year. After that it was never the same, but awkward and distant between them in their supposed second chance romance. Once Again shows so much better how second chance romance is done actually well.

Heh fair. i also would treat TRHC as entertainment IF anything of it were (still) actually entertaining, tho

right? It is such a pity how they squandered every chance of romance developing due to them being drowned in misery by the writer whenever it started to progress in any way. Also watching Homemade Love Story where the lead couple also only has known each other for two-three weeks and then started dating ,so that argument is no longer valid, is suuuuuuuch a difference and makes the absence of romance and affection even more apparent. Like alone with how they sit together, while talking. You know, like a couple:
