i only read the blog post giving a comprehensive summary of the story and that alone was a wild ride, damn.

But as said, (for me) TRHC is on one level with Woori The Virgin now with how bad it is. There is nothing salvageable left here and hasn't for a while, neither story, characters, themes, plot, nothing. It has a cute baby and a ML i really loved and who deserved so much better than what shitty treatment he got here, but he has now also been hit with the stupid ball thrown by the writer turd to make his darling more speshul and more central than the ACTUAL ML. 🤮 The way this asshole hated and tortured Taekyung thoughout was unreal. (myra's post sums it up perfectly)

it should AT LEAST be on the same rating level as YLAG, if not lower (since YLAG at least had a good romance/chemistry from what i gathered) It is insulting to the actually good mid-seven rating dramas on MDL otherwise lmao.

Plus a lower rating helps to trap less people with an apparently good family drama that actually is one of the worst i have seen. And i don't mean just family drama with that, but tv show in general, korean or otherwise. TRHC is actually on Woori The Virgin level now with how bad it is.

did you just start watching? Because the first 10-20 eps are indeed really good and so is the writing, but it goes downhill and to shit rapidly after that. (At eps 33, to be exact) Just as a fair warning.

Pity needs to be deserved and earned for bad people. And there is no redemption arc, no apologies, no build up just contrived manipulative 'are you sorry for him yet? Look he is such a good guy awwww' bs. So I laugh whenever I hear oh I cried along JH in his crying scene, bc my eyes couldn't have rolled any harder at how pisspoor this whole shit is constructed.

oh well they all start off as their worst self in family dramas tbh. They both play a role in as to why their marriage crashed and burned at first. But like he, she gets a lot of character development as the show goes on, so first impressions are always deceiving in weekenders. Particularly in such well made ones as in Once Again.

it suits/reflects the writers completely backwards ass attitude toward women perfectly tho, if you put into consideration how abysmally he has treated the female characters in this shitshow. In his vision they are meek sexless maiden who stay at home all day, rearing children waiting for the husband to come back home from work without any life, hobbies or career of their own outside their children and household 24/7. Women who sit quietly, passively at their husband's side, eyes downcast and only speak when spoken to and even in those cases leaves most of the talking to their husbands, and all decisions to make is a man's job anyway.

this would have been viable MAYBE if this shithead hadn't been a vile abusive narcissistic shithead hellbent on destroying the leads lives for throughout the drama without abandon rue/apologies and self-reflection, and there had been an actual redemption arc MUCH EARLIER and before this asshole had passed the vile road of no return, instead of whatever insult to my intelligence this shit is here. Because if it talks like evil, looks like evil and acts like evil IT IS, no matter how much TRHC is pissing in my ears and tells me it is raining.

The good thing is you can finish 48 in 10 minutes if you skip all the scenes with JH in it and all scenes characters talking about and pitying/praising JH 🙃

As for BJH i am not a gossip girl but news came out that she broke up with her actor bf of 7 yrs so this has to affect things too for her currently too. But overall yeah, we can all blame on pisspoor writing and directing as BJH seems to be the stark opposite of the husk called Yeondoo in there irl and there is such an easy, comfortable camaraderie between AJH and BJH in the bts vids. It is definitely not the actors nor are they to blame for the stilted painful awkwardness we see between the married roommates YD/TK. As it is an actual acting direction/characterization thing or rather.... issue.

I would love to see both actors reuniting in an actual romcom down the line and prove everyone wrong decrying their chemistry bc it ain't THEM.

This family drama here is also pure comedy like i am laughing at how bad and contrived everything is within. And i watched the time when the shithead is not mentioned or in the scene. I come to around 11 minutes, give or take... out of 67 minutes and this is only because those are the hongjoo and airhead couple scenes. Let that sink in. What a clown show, nah a full circus.

Also every character connected to YD/TK talk about this shithead,in every scene. Plus the leads themselves are praising him. THERE IS LITERALLY NO OTHER TOPIC THAN THIS BASTARD FOR ALL THESE CHARACTERS I AM.... 💀 💀 💀
