It is a weekend drama, hence 50 eps are standard, but unlike much better shows of its genre, it is just a badly executed story overall, with this insipid writer not knowing what to do with either plot nor characters. Hence the circular, repetitive plot lines going nowhere like we are in a goddamn hamster wheel, that i did mention above, plus a few other major factors that make this family drama not a good watch, mildly put.

And i would wager that unnecessary lengthy issues tire everyone, and this show is full of them, soooo yeah ;) There was, however, definitely enough potential to the story and characters to fill 50 eps WELL, but needless to say none of it has been remotely used, ever.

It's definitely not a good way to spend your spare time unless you like repetitive plot lines going nowhere, character flounderization, domestic violence being trivialized, used for shock value/plot device and condoned in rewarding the perpetrator with the most story focus and manipulative he is not bad just lonely narrative, backwards ass treatment of female characters generally (don't do anything without a man, do not even talk), and a whole lot of frustration and perpetual misery delivered free house with it 💀💀

It has a cute baby and an 8 yrs old girl smarter than most of the adults in there though. Also Taekyung but he's been constantly mistreated and now hit with the stupid stick too, in order for the true star and creator's pet to shine 🙄💀

Look forward to the rest of the story, an enactment of the Hindenburg crash as LADramaFan called it so fittingly. Oh they break up or not oh they do or maybe not? It is beyond stupid and running endless circles which is on par with the rest of the story actually. Princess YM better run far away from this coward DW and count her blessings to have dodged a bullet.

Also buckle up for the Kim Junha show to start and never end again as this dumbass writer is keen on making the worst story decisions, in general but in particular to prop up his abusive fave and to shit on TK/YD at every turn. At least in this he is consistent all the way through till the end. Better speedrun your way through the world's most prolonged superfluous misery p*rn and writer being 'Kim Junha did no wrong and is the best you all are just jealoooous of his greatness' to follow for the next 6 eps. God have mercy on on your soul. 🙏😂

Don't let the first 20 ish good episodes fool you IT IS A TRAP! Don't waste your time and tune in for a GOOD family drama instead. The best three are still Once Again, Five Enough and My Father is strange, but homemade love story which I currently watch is good too. Hyoshim's Independent Life, the weekender replacing this current train wreck here looks good too.

Oh same lol but atp it is just me watching the train wreck driving down the cliff at full speed, bemused. I expect less than nothing now and anything more than a full minute of rushed 'happy ending montage' for the lead cp would surprise me. Since this writer turd needs all the screentime to give his darling the happiest send off after all 🙄🤮

it is more my general annoyance with seeing many twitter/youtube/viki posts aka "oh i pity JH, he is not that bad, just lonely. He should be in HN's life that is mean etc" lately and they always refer to the crying scene, so yeah. With the shit-show whitewashing everything he'd done just bc he was sad for a minute, manipulating viewers along the way. Same for delulu debbie, but it is waaaay more grave for this shithead. And agreed, actor is doing a great job, but i am glad when i don't have to see him onscreen for a long while to detox from the toxic role he played here. lol.

heh that is fair. If there are positive takeaways from sticking to this trainwreck to be had it is:

1) this community/comment section here being a second home and support group thru this drama's gradually increasing bs for the past half a year. 2) me improving my korean and listening skills quite a lot due to always watching the raws and 3) i discovered family dramas as a viable genre for me, and have watched a small handful shows by now that all were unsurprisingly by miles better than this trashfire in a dumpster 😂

The show itself however? Worst kdrama i have seen to date, on par with Woori The Virgin. Yes, that bad. I still want to transmute ML Taekyung into another kdrama.-verse as this green flag king deserves so much better. (need to find his spine, surgically removed by the writer turd in the past weeks, again first tho) Oh and cute baby, i guess. But that's it. Avoid at all cost. The first 10-20 excellent episodes are nothing but A TRAP.

If you have the time and patience left now, do try once again and you will see how family dramas can be when they are well written and executed with heart and soul and appropriate character and relationship development and pacing all the way through. Basically everything that TRHC did not have 😂

I was joking with YD having devolved into a cardboard cutout, but by now i actually expect that a cardboard cutout will be the stand-in for YD in the final episodes (so that a very exhausted/dispirited BJH can finally rest) and no one will notice a difference.

that is fair but i feel you caught the WORST family drama if TRHC is your first one. There are many good ones actually that not devolve into a backwards ass trainwreck like TRHC did (Once Again, My Father Is Strange, Five Enough etc.) And Hyoshim has, unlike TRHC a competent veteran writer of the genre, so unlikely to see a repeat of a trashfire in a dumpster steering down the cliff 😂

It was more a collective observation with how YD only seems to speak now when spoke to and sits emotionless in a corner for the rest of the time, but the talking FOR her is a very new crappy development of eps 48 where TK replied two times in her stead when she was DIRECTLY addressed. First at the beginning where BN warns YD to not let bastard see Haneul and when she does not react she adds "why is she not answering" to which TK then says "She has a lot on her mind (hah) mother." and the second time where they are about to drive to the photo studio and shithead asks in which car YD will sit and without pause TK replies for her "Where Haneul is, of course." and YD just went to get into JH's backseat like an obedient child, eyes downcast.

I do not like to make any speculations into their private lives but i don't think a breakup with a partner of 7 yrs can be handwaved like that even when working, which explains how utterly exhausted BJH looks like a few weeks actually. But her phoning in her lines without any zeal makes no difference to the husk of character YD has been downgraded to anymore, anyway. It does seem tho as if AJH has way more dialogue than her the past few weeks and scenes either way tho. YD has stopped short of not existing by now lmao

Yeah better buckle up if you plan to continue, bc the first perky 25 ish episodes are just to trap you into thinking that this is a well-written and paced show with a cute romance and a lot of fun to be had... when it is the exact opposite later on. In all regards. Unfortunately.

It was fun till the timejump then it became a whole different show (kim junha show hahahaha...aaaah :/ ) and worse and worse with each episode since. After the split the leads romance stopped romancing hard and they became roommates raising a baby D:) I regret having not dropped back then but oh well too late now. Here is hoping for hyosim to be much better, and as said, being actually a show that is written in 2023 instead of... idk hellion joseon era.

yeah they just released the news thru their agencies. Could have been a longer while now since they had split. Perhaps also a reason why BJH looked extra dispirited onscreen lately (since these eps are filmed very recently)

Or she is simply counting the days, hours, minutes until she is free from this travesty and from easily the worst FL she ever had the misfortune to portray. I bet, like us, this wasn't the character she signed up for lmao. She has been phoning it in for a few weeks now and i cant actually blame her bc as downgraded to an extra YD is, it is indistinguishable what is actually Yeondoo's (lack of) character and BJH simply having stopped to give a shit, anyway😂
