Yeah the storyline feels a bit hamfisted tbh, like it is clear what the writer has in mind here (aka uncovering the main conflict to solve it, so the leads are able to move past it) but it is not the best way to go about it. Since it requires a lot of patrick starfishing on some characters' side, lol. But maybe they are just as dumb as portrayed in truth. We never saw him in extended scenes before that after all, lol.
