Just watched the show and I would like to say it was the perfect example of perfect pathetic ML who only think…
They broke up 2 YEARS ago. Tae Hee doesn't really owe her anything. Is it nice to get an explanation when someone breaks up with you? Sure. Are you necessarily owed that to the point of harassing them. Nah.
She clearly has an attachment problem which is HER problem and it´s something she should solve herself. She had no right to go into his house and make him uncomfortable and claim him for her again as if he wasn´t very clear about how they were done. She thought their broken relationship was worth enough to forget what he was going through.
If he decided to move on, he was in the right and if he wanted to do it with another person it is still his rights. Just because you dated for so and so years does not mean you become the other person's property. It's sad that she wasn´t able to move on in *years*, but it was not his fault. If he was to break up with her before his traumatic experience, it would still be the same. That was just a variant and the problem was her attachment, which probably come from her mother not being the mother she wanted/needed her to be to grow emotionally stable on her own, without another person providing this stability for her solely. So in this case we can blame her background, not the ML with the deep trauma after the incident further not being able to go through the motions of being a loving boyfriend as though nothing happened when everything had changed. He needed time to grieve and she wasn't giving it to him. DJ did and understood him, that is the difference between the two and why he did and would weather every crisis thrown at him/them together with her instead to "run away" He literally learned that his coping mechanism of avoidance had been the wrong way to deal with his trauma, and grew past that over the course of the drama, facing now every difficulty instead to run away. (Because now he has a partner he knows he can rely on as much she relies on him, instead of it being one-sided only) This process was the whole point of his character development, if you paid attention.
the synopsis sounds so bad and this drama is a bit infamous for its quality or rather lack thereof, i just have…
it is really corny and over the top as hell, but it makes me laugh, so i don't think it is as bad as ppl say, especially if you don't take it seriously.
bad, yes, we know. From Now On Showtime taught me never to judge a show on its bad poster alone, tho, since that drama is fantastic. And TFM is a very good watch too.
the synopsis sounds so bad and this drama is a bit infamous for its quality or rather lack thereof, i just have to try it for myself. Kinda in the mood for trashy kdramas where i don't need to think rn, lmao.
wtf is wrong with kdrama endings this year??? like im literally speechless, who wrote that and thought "yeah what…
Completely different genre, but the one kdrama which did it so right this year with its ending was From Now On Showtime. So satisfying, fluffy and feel good. (Too bad almost no one watched it tho)
I stopped depending on shows with high ratings after watching goblin, one of the most overrated shows I have ever…
Yeeeah i mean in the end, it comes always down to personal taste, but i failed to like so many high rated mdl kdramas i stopped depending on it and check for myself if i like it or not if i am interested in a show. I honestly often had a better time with the dramas rated below 8 than the higher rated ones 8,5-upwards. But that is just me.
No matter what, the rating is automatically higher here if the show is on netflix and has a famous lead bc their stans will rate it high then by default, independent of its actual quality. So to follow the ratings here and only watch high/popular ones is really a baaaad idea.
Also goblin, i never understood how they could pair up the ML with a highschooler, like... pls call the FBI, yikes. Why did they have to make FL so young? This skeeved me most about that drama ngl. (From Now On Showtime had a somewhat similar story, but it was much better executed imo.)
With you on this. I'm 2/3 of the way through, and it's taken me days to get that far because I keep pausing to…
Yeeeah, and i read it has the "it was all a dream" ending, which is like so 1980 soap opera writing, yikes. So naaaah ain't nobody got time for this nonsense. Especially not with so many other kdramas to choose from, and also because it is popular/has super high ratings in SK does not mean it is automatically the best thing ever. I mean sure in the end it all comes down to personal taste, and well this drama ain't it for me, particularly with such a clown ending, lmao.
Lol @ SJK comment because it is true. This man looks like he de-ages with every year instead the other way around. Maybe he is a vampire or Benjamin Button 🤣
considering i fell asleep each time trying to watch this, and have little to no motivation to continue watching, also thanks to the things i heard about its ending, i*m gonna drop this at episode 6. No matter the hype, high ratings or not. This is just another popular drama on a long list this year, i cannot connect with. So yeah, time to move on for me to shows i find a better time investment,
I wished we had more sweet carefree moments between the leads too, but the more i think about it, the more i love…
Standing guard at the funeral hall for hours and begging the team leader to let her have more time with her dad. Waiting for her until she came out of the door and holding her in his arms as she cried. Accompanying her to her dad's home, giving her space (waiting for her to enter first and following in some distance) but being there and present when she needs him. Being at her side all day and night, sleeping on the couch...again giving her room to grieve and process, but showing his presence. He reads her so well and knows what she needs and adjusts himself accordingly. He is there for her as she was there for him. As it should be in an equal relationship, especially during bad, tragic times.
Imo, it is the emotional intelligence of both leads which makes the dynamic and romance so special and mature and realistic. It does not need those grand moments to know how much they love and care for each other, it just is as natural as breathing to them. Like irl, it is the little things that count.
I wished we had more sweet carefree moments between the leads too, but the more i think about it, the more i love the quiet support Taehee gave Dongjoo during the last episode.
This is light, short and fluffy and requires zero brain power. Just what i need atm. Should have been called "GoHo's Reverse Harem", tho with the way all the men fall for her 🤣
I already loved ML in Hello Me and he is adorable as heck here too as tsundere deluxe with a long lasting crush. Bit like his role in Secret Life of My Secretary too.
Despite the sadness in the first half, the story is wrapped up on a very positive note with all loose ends tied…
No problem. Give it s a try it is a very nice, warm but also quite melo drama so don't expect a romcom despite the first lighter episodes, is all. It is dealing with the themes of death, grief, regrets/guilt, moving on/new hope all the way through tho and is as such much closer to Tomorrow or Hotel Del Luna in mood/tone than being light and fluffy like other dramas, so MIHY needs a certain mindset/mood to watch.
That is due to script changes that happened after the itaewon tragedy to make it less focused on death. You can…
Haha, i mean given the intensity of the rest of the drama especially from eps 12 upwards, enjoy these little breaks with the characters for as long as you still can ;)
Despite the sadness in the first half, the story is wrapped up on a very positive note with all loose ends tied up. Leads stay together all the way through, no breakup whatsoever. Just don't expect much in regards of romance scenes in the last episodes tho as the writer has put their focus on the themes of grief, moving on and helping people fully and till the end. It carries a nice promise way past the dramas ending for the leads growing further together and being always there for each other as couple/ family bc they were meant to be that from the start, tho.
First 4 episodes were relevant... currently on episode 9 and I have to say that from episode 5 to 9, it feels…
That is due to script changes that happened after the itaewon tragedy to make it less focused on death. You can see it picking back up to old script after their wrote in of more interpersonal drama, around episode 10/11
I disagree however that the camping trip is not significant for the mains character and relationship development. Plus main plot story is further revealed and how it relates to ML. All here makes sense, bc sometimes it is the little things. This is a kdrama that does not spell everything out for you and wants you to pay attention to small details as well bc they VERY often become important later.
