I get 50% of everything by now whenever i watch a raw episode w/o subs (and of that i care enough for to listen to it closely, which is not much in this drama atp/atm lol) so i conveniently leave the other 50% out that flew over my head/ were just word brackets i could not put together sensibly.

These shitty fam basically threw a big pity party for themselves, completely ignoring HS. Yeah a good weekender (like Once Again/Five Enough) focuses on all aspects of family and forms of love instead of the leads only (like TRHC) or sets up things well but leaves everything of it unused and stagnant like it is happening here for too long. Plus it does not help that 95% of the characters here are complete traaaaaaaash with no growth in sight whatsoever. Instead the writer seems now to double down on their unrepentant toxicity and worse even, give ways to justify it (like with trashgoblin's daddy issues uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh)

Oh for sure, not denying that. I hate the obsessive delulu SL character archtype so much, no matter the gender. Currently banging my head against the wall with the weekender Live Your Own Life and SML there who accepts no rejection or no and always doubles down on his creepy, unwanted advances to FL instead. And is equally creepily possessive about her bc "he knows her longer" than ML whom FL likes. DWY's SFL was like that, only genderflipped. So yeah it is the worst kind of character, no matter if male or female.

(Unsubbed) Episode 17 takeaways, Taehshim edition: (will add more details when watching subs for context)

Taemin was once more a possessive little delulu bitch about Hyoshim, pissing on Taeho's leg about giving her the modeling job (????) and why it could not have been anyone else than her (?????) to which TH says, well dude none of your business, bc i offered it to HS and she happily accepted it. It was her choice and i don't regret mine. Gotta deal, i guess?" So Taemin tells him well fine but stay away from her now and TH throws down the glove and refuses to comply. So much for the cousins getting along better lol. I guess we gotta see TM bitching a lot and being creepily possessive over TH's soon to be girlfriend going forward, keeping his delusion of his relationship with HS alive Riveting. I wonder if the day comes when TM stops being a creep and i can start *attempting* to like him. But this day is not today. Nor will it be tomorrow or in a week's worth (aka 7 eps) of eps I guess. Guess I will have to wait three years like TM for this to happen too.

Kang Taeho's flirty boi era has definitely began, he was all smiles in the gym session with Hyoshim and tried to elicit the same from HS . He asks about her family thing, HS wonders why he has such a good mood this early (YOU are the reason dear) TH worries about how tired she looks so he doubles down on making her smile with bad jokes and being the biggest cute puppers as witchy bitchy nr. 2 jealously looked on. Later on she is accusing HS of seducing her clients or something (lol) This whole arc of KS clowning HS in jealousy over her delulu prince is soooooooooo superfluous but i guess we are going there next week as well. Great ugh.

Taeho was not leaving without Hyoshim's smile. So he hopped (literally) out of his car and over to her as she took out the trash (sadly no bitchy witch included here) in the underground parking lot. The scene basically goes like this:
Taeho: *flirt flirt flirt banter tease smiles until she does*
Hyoshim: confused but smiling/laughing after all because TH's puppy charm is lvl 9000
Taeho: You look so pretty when you laugh *makes biggest heart eyes at her*
Hyoshim: 😳😳😳 *admonishes him for this but is secretly charmed*
Taeho: I will call you later. Pick up then, okay? Pick up, yeah? *waves and smiles at her like her husband leaving for work as he drives off*

Hyoshim is made feel bad for enjoying time with TH, because of course we can't have nice things. I think there is some gossip about a PT dating her client and her colleagues are mightily frowning upon that? Taeho having the worst timing calls her in this moment to invite her to lunch but she curtly refuses leaving the puppers confused looking at his phone as she hung up. Oh are we doing starcrossed lovers, the gym version now? " i as a trainer and you, as a client, can't be together" LMAO, okay then.

In the end we are basically there were we started eps 16, in the chicken feet bar with HS drinking herself blind bc otherwise her life is not bearable anymore. But of course, Taeho with his built in Hyoshim gps comes into the same bar to eat and by chance finds her there, again drunk af but this time ALSO choking on her tears as all the bottled up misery and sadness burst out of her and he takes her into his arm, confused and alerted/worried but yet trying his best to console her.

As for the rest, idk man i really don't caaaaare atp. Notify me when ANY of the other characters has made ANY progress/character development. Or when the plot comes back from life support/ weeks of coma. Best girl Mirim definitely deserves better than this unrepentant callous gremlin she is settled with story-wise that is for sure. Ugh.

Preview: Taeho yelling at somebody for making his wifey (to be) cry. HELL YEAH GO OFF KING. More SK jealousy clowning, i guess this cow tries to make HS lose her job so she can't be longer around TM???? Lol as if HS WANTS to be around delulu dude. Taeho seems to find out who made his wifey (to be) upset as he is seen following and observing the cow SK while wearing a cute golfing (???) outfit. HS and TH are meeting in spite and even close to her home where TH sees the childish scrawling of her brother on the wall and laughs while HS is embarrassed about it. Also WE SEEM TO GET A CONFESSION OF THE ZERO CHILL GOLDEN RETRIEVER MAN as in the last scene he is asking HS if she would date him/that he wants to go out with her. AAAAAAAAAH MY HEARTUUUUU. I am pretty sure HS will reject him tho bc a) her sacrificial mindset b) with all that is going on in her life atm and c) fearing rumors at work.

Either way, I KNEW Taeho would confess first, hehe. We will see how it goes tho, hopefully into the right direction or else the leads gonna jump on the stagnant pile that is the rest of this show too, i fear.

I am fully here for Taehshim and their relationship at this point, sorry not sorry. The other parts and chars (minus Mirim) are just boiling my blood because it is just pure toxic waste with no change in sight whatsoever. None of the characters have made any bit of progress yet, 17 eps in. So you can't fault me for staying in my Taehshim bubble, giggling and kicking my feet whenever Hajun does his thing with Uee. Of course i am here to see her trash family of all trash punished in the end, but atp i don't hold my breath. Because if i would i would have long suffocated with how STAGNANT everything else is. So my modus operante is now to just focus on the leads and ignore all the other toxic shit going on, just like all the ignorant chars do themselves haha

Also MIRIM DESERVES BETTER 2023/24. I haaaaaate that she is paired up with such an unrepentant callous ASSHOLE.

Kiho is really the kind of guy who turns around to confess his love for someone point blank and matter of fact, just to then turning back around to resume what he was doing as if he has talked about the weather 😂

Preach 😂✌️🏼 Also this was totally my mood during watching Destiny With You. I felt like the nonlinear narrative there was too complicated to grasp for too many people, so they called the plot bad/confusing when it was clearly laid out bit by bit just not in chronological order😆.

Doesn't help that most ppl nowadays have the attention spans of a goldfish and miss so many obvious details tbh.

Yeeees i am really looking forward to this drama in december. The acting prowess of the leads alone whoa. Finally SHS has a ML on her eye level again after Mr. Queen with Wookie. I bet it is gonna be wholesome time and drama, can't wait <3

Ratings stagnate bc the story and characters in the drama itself do atm. Also we cannot disregard the fact of My Dearest 100 min special airing yesterday which with 12,5% almost reached weekender level and has been a super popular show. I think it will only improve for LYOL when the show does and focuses on developing its actual characters and progressing the story and relationships instead of perpetually running circles into the ground like the roadrunner on crack.

I am disappointed too with the direction taken with the chairman, like writer does this so witchy bitch can do whatever she likes, but it is cheap and a waste of character. The new actor does get nothing to work with, but sadly that is currently a theme for many actors within this show lol.

The problem is also that there has not been ANY story/character progress made in over 15 eps. Thus it is not fair to blame the lead as it has been barely given any room nor airing time to develop thus far. Writer needs to dial back her inexplicable tendency to shove SML into a) the most useless "love triangle" that is only happening in that dude's head and b) into way too many scenes while severely underusing Hajun in comparison.

Also the writer needs to stop her one step forward, two steps back approach or we will never get ANYWHERE with this story. Idk if this is an intended way to erase ANY progress made with the next eps bc she just wants to fill episodes and has not enough story material but it certainly does not entice viewers to stick around or tune in if we are doing the 17th round on the plot carousal and just land back there where we started each time. Aka the status quo with characters being unrepentant selfish assholes without any nuance and HS the sacrificial lamb that takes everything these assholes beat her with, subjecting herself to this hell forever. With any breaking points she is reaching we expect it to be the final straw and yet the next episode writer casts collective amnesia and everything reverts back to the status quo as if the breaking point never happened. And we kinda rub our eyes in wonder as we viewers are also gaslighted into believing this is normal and will never change, which yikes.

Atp i am not even sure what the story focus is, beyond subjecting HS to as much abuse as possible in a single episode and yeah, no wonder ratings are stagnating bc the show itself is atm. Improving the rating is not a matter of the lead couple being unloved as they barely get any screentime to begin with and instead make other couples "shine more", but developing your damn characters TO BEGIN WITH, and focus on moving things forward in all regards. A full on sweep of progress is needed. Lead and support characters, and their relationships, every one of them. Also cutting back on villa granny scenes as it adds zero to the story.
