Ah, yes. It's not a Korean series if it isn't promoting alcoholism! It's decent, just very bland when you compare…
What are some others you rec? I enjoyed it. It was very chill and a good laid back imo, but I'd like to know more out there that are bit more well-rounded
Agreed and the truth of where said drug criminilization and stigma of drug use, especially marijuana, is due to the US's war on drugs which was really a war on Black people. They cracked down on the drugs, which were statisticslly less harmful, that were used by Black leople and let the white people party with their hard drugs. They sentenced people smoking a joint to keep them jailed, LESS HARMFUL THAN LEGAL CIGARETTES THAT KILL SO MANY PEOPLE WHILE YOU CAN NOT DIE/OD FROM WEED. Situations like this are so disgraceful. And people will still follow government/corporate power blindly while its proved time and time again that corruption exists. Its not an attack on Korean culture, its an attack on peoples basic right to live their lives and not be prosecuted for dumb shit while the real crimes go untouched.
I haven't watched it yet, but it's about to leave GagaOOLaLa so I best use my subscription. I think I'm intrigued with the premise as I have some knowledge of method acting and how it negatively impacts actors in real life as they aren't properly able to separate their real life from the character. It is actually seen as something "bad actors" do as actors shouldn't have to bleed the character so radically into their real lives to perform well. I wonder how this plays in the film with the queer relationship as a fellow queer who often suffers from heteronormative compulsion and confusion with whether I like somebody as a romantic interest or purely a friend.
Forgot to mention in my review that they also tell the story of queer Chinese women as well! My apologies as it is even harder to see stories of lesbian/bi/pan etc women.
I like this. I shed a tear at the end. I've never had a good run with relationships and can barely manage my own life alone as it is. I could relate to both of the characters and their love story. The movie to me spoke about accepting failure, but how you still take a step after it. Keep going.
The fact that it's Netflix. They okay with pedos but can't have someone smoking a joint. There are literally documentaries/shows on Netflix about marijuana use in a positive light. Maybe its specific to the South Korean Netflix HQ?
I loved this so much! I also liked that they didn't leave it as "foiled again by straight man flirting", but added that the feelings could be reciprocated. Felt closer to an actual queer film that showed diversity in the community than what would appease fujoshis.
It's really old and very VERY slow-paced. I ended up completing it (almost marathon-ed(?) it) cuz I was really…
lmao to the 52 years ago. It says they are the founder of MDL but only joined 2011 so assuming this is a glitch and the real year they posted was 2011 or after 2011.
I would've loved it if IONTBO had not tried to be a romance drama at all, but more like a slice of life that focused…
I had to stop watching literally all of the shows listed above because of these issues. As someone with mental health issues and autism, it was hard for me to see these shows being praised for "tackling important issues" when its unfortunately just virtue signaling. It would be easier if the people actually in the communities being depicted got to play their own roles. Would fix a whole lot.
ARE WE READY TO SAY GOODBYE TO THE BOYS AND THEIR GENUINE LOVE THAT WE WITNESSED IN ITSAY? DO WE REALLY WANT OH…
Right i got spoiled by the comments and only on episode 2. I think I'll just try to finish this series when epi 5 is actually out. Im too weak to be left on such a cliff hanger for 4 daysðŸ˜
Well many would curse Teh for being a D!ck but the fact that this season 2 is Realistic AF made me fell in love…
I accidentally got spoiled that Teh will cheat and I'm only on epi 2 and now super bummed though. Cheating hits so close to home bc my dad did it to my mom multiple times and jt's put a rift in our relationship. I don't know how theyll fix this bc realistically I'd be rooting that they shouldnt be together and that Teh see a therapist or something. But since its fiction, i want them to fix it and end up happy together, but that betrayal will always be remembered. People already dont see Teh as the same now. Idk how to feel about it at all. Sigh. He is my favorite character, but like you said the fact he is still impulsive just like 1st season and avoids and ignores his feelings without thinkimg about how that will affect others and the one he claimed to love. I'm scared ugh like theres only one 5 epis again right? Ugh
... I'm sorry but... you can watch a person literally be killed and mutated into a monster but not an animal???…
Not really. Many humans are suffering from the people in powers' influence on our society. There are plenty of animals who actually carry a lot of the same toxicity humans do like r**e, incest, infesticide, cannibalism, like dolphins are evil man?can't look at one the same. I kinda see it as = for all life (if youre joking my bad im hfa I have trouble knowing the difference).
