I always read the synopsis first, as this is the most important criteria to me. If it sounds interesting, I check the tags. Some are a definite no no (love triangle, school..). I then take a look at the reviews, but I skim through them to gage the overall feel: I never read one in its entirety. I'll watch the trailer in order to get an idea of the drama style, although some of them are not very helpful, so I rarely make up my mind because or thanks to them. Lastly, there are a few actors/actresses I actively avoid. I cannot stand their way of acting, regardless of the plot. I have also noticed that: - I am not interested in most of the popular shows. - I watch 1 episode and if it doesn't satisfy me at all, I drop the drama. I'll give a second episode a chance if the first episode was so-so. - I never pick a drama with more than 26 episodes. Hence why I've hardly watched any Chinese series. - I love it when someone recommends (and explains why) an underrated drama/movie as those are hard to find. - I will always check out a new fav actor's other works but I'll only watch them if the plot sounds up my alley. It's heart-breaking when nothing interests me though...
What a load of nonsense this was. A convoluted, far fetched, and dare I say, ridiculous plot pretending to be clever. Well acted, but too pretentious for me.
I loved this drama. And I mean, Loved. I had watched some good dramas this year, but it was the first time since last year that I fell hook, line and sinker for one. It had everything: thrills, suspense, action, emotion...not once was I bored. No, it wasn't an Oscar worthy plot with intellectual prose and meaningful message, but those series are too pretentious for my liking. It was just as amazing as Strangers from Hell, another masterpiece.
1) Why did the criminals (ep 9) suddenly appeared out of nowhere and what even was their aim (for taking Hyun…
1) I think they were your basic criminals: wanting to survive by using/controlling others and their resources. Plus good old basic baaaadness. Not much else I think. 2) He's a psycho and just used them to pass the time and have fun, in my opinion. 3) Don't know about the manga, but in the drama, they show us how he chooses to stay apart from the others and die from the military assault. He does so because he knows he's turning. We saw the blood falling, so I'm assuming it was his 2nd bleed and he was aware of it, hence his resolution to stay. However, they never show him die for sure, so there's always the possibility that he also can control his monster, or use the golden hour and stay alive. Who knows.
I think this would have been more suited as a movie. As a drama, it was too long with many useless scenes. I skipped through some because I wanted to know the twist!
Yay, best supporting actress for Lee Jung Eun. I've loved her in all dramas I've seen her in (and in Parasite too, of course). Glad she's been recognized, she's a fantastic actress.
haha I hope so, I just finished the series and now I know why everyone was complaining about the ending! Very…
They simply do it the american way: they wait to see the ratings of season 1 first before they can decide on making season 2 or not. The higher the viewing figures, the higher the chances of season 2. Not sure what their criteria is though.
