I’ve been so disciplined avoiding reviews while dragging myself through all 40 episodes (yes, dedication 😅),…
Thank you so much for your "mini review". Very well put. 👍 To be honest, I've forgotten this show. I had to reread my review so that I can tie it back together with your comments. Cheers!
Thanks for your comment, senpai! It is a good show. It just feels a little dissociative. 🤷♂️
This show reminded me of a j-drama Calm Seas. It is about an arranged marriage between a naive girl and a naval officer. It was nice and sweet. The only problem is that it all happened one year before Japan invaded China. You know what is in store for all involved. Just don't mention the war. 🫣
Thank you. I appreciate the gift. I wrote that in the wee hours after I finished watching, just to get it off my…
"Maybe I am just getting older, growing tired of fairytales, lazy writing, and the same recycled pretty faces in C-Dramaland. ✨" I could have written that myself, chingu. ;) However, the world is nasty enough as it is, I don't need to add fuel to my nightmares. ;)
Unrelated but this is the reason why "Hospital Playlist 2" is still seated pretty in my "currently…
I think that's the big difference between western production and Asian ones. A lot of western one are geared towards multi seasons run. It is part of their DNA. Most K/J dramas are written with a clear start and end. The best plot ideas are in the first season. Sure, you might be able to stretch the odd one out to multiple seasons, but you will find they run out of steam fairly quickly. C-dramas, on the other hand, are in a league of their own. ;) 80 eps was a thing before the system clamped down on it. ;)
I literally needed a review like yours to start this drama! kinda reluctant about Kdramas these days..
Thank you for your kind words.🙏 I totally understand your dilemma. Been there and done that. I have started several shows and groaned because the A-plot is just tropey slop. 🫣 Well, let me paraphrase the popular catchphrase. "I watched this for you, chingu. So that you don't have to!" 🤣😂

Maybe it is the no kiss clause after motherhood. ;)
