Well said πŸ‘I went in with zero expectations and somehow ended up loving it, no skipping, no dragging my feet,…
Totally agree πŸ‘. My only issue is that our leads don't look radically different in some flashback scenes so it might take a moment to work out "when" are we. πŸ˜…

History is doomed to repeat. 😭
Many a wise man have repeat this sentiment throughout the ages. Unfortunately, brutes are seldom wise man.

It is well worth checking out if you stumble onto an edit on YouTube. It is watchable in a glossy coffee table book kind of way. ;)

Thanks for your comment, senpai! It is a good show. It just feels a little dissociative. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
This show reminded me of a j-drama Calm Seas. It is about an arranged marriage between a naive girl and a naval officer. It was nice and sweet. The only problem is that it all happened one year before Japan invaded China. You know what is in store for all involved. Just don't mention the war. 🫣

"Maybe I am just getting older, growing tired of fairytales, lazy writing, and the same recycled pretty faces in C-Dramaland. ✨" I could have written that myself, chingu. ;)
However, the world is nasty enough as it is, I don't need to add fuel to my nightmares. ;)

I think that's the big difference between western production and Asian ones. A lot of western one are geared towards multi seasons run. It is part of their DNA.
Most K/J dramas are written with a clear start and end. The best plot ideas are in the first season. Sure, you might be able to stretch the odd one out to multiple seasons, but you will find they run out of steam fairly quickly.
C-dramas, on the other hand, are in a league of their own. ;) 80 eps was a thing before the system clamped down on it. ;)

"Angst lite" a term that I haven't heard in a K-drama-moment
He he, it is not 100% no angst. It is more the well mannered type that don't overstay and wipe their shoes before walking on your carpet. ;)

Yes, it is a bit of a shame. Very easy to watch, but forgettable. :)
Exactly! I feel the same. So many dramas are angst for angst sake. It is refreshing when people are just nice. ;)
