One of the most difficult dramas I have ever watched. Difficult in that each week I felt mired in a depressing quicksand of retaliation or reprisal, one against another, no one listening, no one admitting their own culpability, blind to their own faults and totally unwilling to stop escalating. None of the characters were likeable. All of them seemed to have mostly bad sides to them...far outweighing any good. I could see each of them had 'reasons', yet none of those reasons justified the extent of their need to control or destroy the other person(s). Yet the complexity of the story, the terrific casting and acting drew me in at each episode, all the while I was struggling mightily just to click on the next one. The ending was as depressing as the rest of it and cheapened the entire story. Way too sensationalistic. And no redemption with too little recompense for 2 selfish and Very self centered women. And FAR too heavy a reparation for the young man who was caught in the middle of those 2 and destroyed. SO glad that is over!
I have a similar issue with Rakuten Viki and Samsung SmartTV. If you can download the streaming services app on…
Have you contacted Viki? They might be able to help. I have Samsung TVs and have no problem with Viki, but, i play via Roku. You might try Roku to see if that works fo you.
Still no subs. It was released June 30 so it's been a month now. Getting worried no one will sub it. :( Please send requests to Netflix and Viki. Maybe they will sub it.
Spot on. It also makes one wonder if we are doing everything in our power to help the mentally ill.
Of course we are not. :( 'Progress' usually consists of more and more and stronger drugs. But willingness for and compliance with treatment/counseling are an ongoing battle too. But that is a vicious circle when part of the illness is denial and you are dealing with doctors/counselors who may or may not be concerned enough with the individual.
That age old question: Is evil born or bred? There are many excellent movies and dramas that show that the creation of monsters can be, and often is, man made. But real life also shows that there are those with the mental fortitude to overcome the horrors of their childhood who go on to live productive lives. We congratulate them and must condemn the others. But, knowing as we do, as we must, that the evil enacted by seemingly evil people may stem from evil done to them, how do we punish/treat them? We know that treatment for mental health, though greatly improved over my lifetime, still has so far to go! And by the time these evil people reach adulthood and are enacting acts of criminality that cannot be excused, it is too late to allow them to stay in society. And we are universally in agreement that, in addition to mental illness, the unforgivable cruelty done to children is at fault in many of, if not most of, the creations of the adult monsters who prey on innocent victims every day. These are very complex and seemingly insolvable questions. Every time I have to think about it I get depressed just knowing that there will never be a definitive answer nor any end to this vicious cycle.
this just in...it just keeps getting more depressing. We can only hope for a Passionate Love scenario where they…
yep. Still feel like I got cheated on this one. There were several of us who really liked it and wanted it to do well. But we were in the minority for sure.
Quirky, Dark and good. One of those under the radar things that sneaks up on viewers and becomes better than expected. It has lots of good reviews out there....and quite a few bad ones too. Most of those object to the unnecessary and over the top violence at the end, which I would have to agree with. It went too far. Even so, it is primarily all tongue in cheek, so I choose to ignore those few minutes at the end for the overall fun of the rest. Also, it is surprising we don't see more of her. She also played a brilliant part in Juvenile Offender as the mother . One wonders if her fame as a singer holds her back from receiving the parts she deserves.
Since I have seen the original Unforgiven many times, it was hard for me to form the emotional attachment to this production as I had with it. However, it is hard not to appreciate the beauty of this production as well as the strengths of the casting. I struggled to continue watching it, but by halfway through I was invested in the characters and their version of the story. Very little was different, but the ending.... and I actually liked it better for doing so.
I clicked the KBS world link above and it took me to that site. I them clicked on the box for play all on the left of the screen. It originally said blocked for my country (USA), but after a few seconds it automatically opened with English subs. The first couple played automatically, but I had to click on several links to watch the next 3. Appears to be a web drama with 6 episodes of 5 minutes or so. However, I could never find ep 6, though it is clear how it will end.
Dramacool has all the KBS Drama Specials from 2015 to present, but only half of them have the subs. 2019 is not subbed yet, so it would be a good idea to click on their Request a Drama button and ask them to get them from KBS.
sadly I am thinking this film will never be picked up for subbing. It was released in Nov 2020 during the height of covid and only 200,000 people saw it. They should have tried to get a deal from Netflix! All we can do is wait and see I guess.
