i already saw a shawol on twitter who's working on subs but she's asking to be patient for now as she's…
Thank you, and her, again!
hmmm....I don't use twitter and I am old and not so savvy, so forgive me, but I am clicking and all I am finding is a 45 second subbed trailer? What am I missing?
I guess, like they say, it's the eye of the beholder. Season 4 was the best of them all for me. Season 3 the worst. Could not stand Ahn Nae Sang's hysterical and inane behavior. And I greatly missed the dynamic of the team that began so well in 1 & 2. The return of Det. Kang was greatly appreciated. 3 also descended into bad sci fi. The mad scientist extracting brains and hooking them up to wires to run his experiments was ludicrous and embarrassingly bad. Reminded me of old B movies from the 50's and 60's. The shows were best when they stuck to known science, even if the procedurals were a bit sketchy at times (no masks during autopsies?).
I do wonder why the recording of Park with Shi Woo as his hostage (because surely they recorded it) was not broadcast. I'd say that was pretty definitive proof that they were being threatened and blackmailed to cover up their investigation. He as much as said so! That would have opened up a huge can of worms that the corrupt prosecution would have had a hard time explaining. Especially when the hostage was murdered!. Still all's well that ends well.
I would love to see another season, though after this long it appears doomed. As does RDW's career. He has not been able to parlay his success in this series into much since it ended...sadly. He was perfectly cast for the part. I really enjoyed him in this.
Halfway through and I'm finding the cases more interesting, and more graphic, but wishing we had more info on what is happening with Jin Woo. I'm also having a problem, again, with the loosey goosey medical procedures. Autopsies without masks? Sawing into a mummy with dust flying? In every episode there are things that don't make sense procedurally. Like, why wouldn't you call the hospital to stop the surgery instead of driving and then running through the hospital halls to stop it? Looks more dramatic on tv, but the time wasted killed the guy.
Ahn Nae Sang character (or him) is irritating, to me. I'm already tired of his shtick, with his incessant jumping to conclusions, hysterics, rudeness, and insensitivity. He's obviously out of his element in the medical sense, and isn't growing as a character. By now, midway, he should be listening more and realizing these cases are very complex and require a lot of study. But, as an actor, he has played this same character many many times before.
Really enjoyed this season of this show. I had heard so much about it so went in with fairly high expectations, but also with the knowledge that medical Kdramas are consistently poor on the science, pay little attention to details, and put in humor and romance where it's either unnecessary or inappropriate. Yet, this drama seemed to pretty well maintain a good balance in all this. It obviously suffered from a low budget, as the sets were pretty bad and tho the stories were great, some of the acting and direction seemed to suffer from inexperience or inability. Yet as the show went on and the cast seemed to gel with one another, the acting got better, even if the directing didn't improve much. Season 2 is a marked improvement.
Surprisingly better drama than I expected it to be. I never planned to watch it, but watched the first 2 episodes when I just had nothing better to do and decided to check it out, mainly for the genre and the 2 male leads. It is lovely to look at, understated and not full of eye rolling cliches, better acting and writing than expected, considering the fantasy aspect (as these kinds of dramas can sometimes get silly or just plain dumb). For me, it is one of those dramas where, when the new episodes come up, I don't put them off until I have nothing better to do, don't anxiously await the new one, but am somewhere in the middle where I can sit and just enjoy a break from whatever and just look at something pretty.
On Episode 11, his 'confession' or request to pursue their relationship was one of the most honestly written I've seen given the context of the story. Well done.
I just rewatched this movie. A good enough movie. You might think it's a skin movie, definite R rating, but there is more to it. Actually a quite realistic look at relationships and breakups and affairs. A bit unrealistic ending since the reality means a lot more bitterness and hurt is the norm. Still, overall, it was enjoyable for the realism and relatability, for me. It definitely could have benefited with more development of why both marriages were rocky. We got hints, but it would have helped if they were fleshed out more. It helps that everyone is equally messing around so there's equality of blame or fault going on. I notice the movie glosses over Yu Na and Young Jun's sexual encounters (fade out as they kiss and walk away...where?), but go full bore on their partners'. I read somewhere that Uhm Jung Hwa had talked to the director and had it toned down (sex scenes removed, cut, or not done?) Whatever, it makes the breakup more palatable for the audience I guess when everyone is messing around. I like that they show a cooling off period at the end, with everyone on their own and the nice but, again, unrealistic friendliness of everyone.
It appears they are making baby steps towards the new Partners as they start flirting with one another again. So it's also more palatable that if they are going to cheat, there was actually real feelings involved for both couples.
Absolutely one of the best dramas ever. In a sea of formulaic and cliche ridden dramas this one stands out. The script was amazing, fantastic writing. A complex and well thought out plot, full of surprises and pain. No black and white characters with black and white motives. And the actors selected for these roles could not have been more perfect nor done a more superb job with their characters. Add in a production that was top notch, from sets, to cinematography. This drama just was perfect in all aspects. 10/10
I never really care which guy she ends up with in any of the shows. Of course, for me, there was never any question in 1994...the amount of skinship between those 2 was ott! I'm actually getting tired of the whole thing now and feel like it's detracting from the show. They need a new schtick! I loved that she ended up with Taec (He needed her so badly) and was heartbroken for Jung Hwan. The scene where he leaves the ring on the table had me sobbing. I want to cry just thinking about it!
Just okay for me. Not bad, not great. The story was interesting, but Choi Soo Jong overacted through most of it which made it irritating to watch...for me! Everyone else was okay. 2hours would have covered it I think. Usually I want drama specials to be longer, but not this one.
If you have Amazon Prime, it's on there. This was on Modern Korean Cinema's Best Of List for 2016 and won a ton of awards. Written and Directed by Lee Kyoung-mi (Crush and Blush, a Blue Dragon Award winner) and Co-written by Park Chan Wook this was a DARK and fascinating movie about the disintegration of an up and coming political family when an ugly tragedy strikes in the middle of the husband's campaign. The movie is doubly engrossing since it fluctuates between past and present requiring careful attention to the action on screen, but it does a good job of keeping things pretty clear while doing so. A brilliant performance by Son Ye Jin, may be the best of her career. Tense and, at the end, both frightening and exciting, the final 10-15 minutes is a tour de force of stunning revelation and bloody vengeance that takes place at rocket speed! I highly recommend it to those who like this genre. 9 or 9.5/10 for me
Probably best known (and watched because of) as director Bong Joon-Ho's first movie and his second as a screenwriter, for me, that's about the only reason to watch it. It was fun to see Bae Doona and Lee Sung Jae 17 years younger and that was the best part of the whole thing for me. This is one of those films that I guess you could call an Indie, but it's hard to pin down its genre. It's definitely dark comedy and, despite the statement that "No Animals Were Harmed In The Making Of This Film", if you are an animal lover, this will be VERY difficult to watch and VERY VERY difficult to find humor in the cruelty shown. It's certainly why I felt turned off almost immediately by it. It's about as impossible for me to see murdering animals as humorous in any vein...even for the sake of dark humor or as an allegory for societal wrongs. What's next? Murdering children? I realize that writers and directors like to do things like this to shock and awe people and as a method to get their points across about things that need to change in this world. But the methodology used in the this film was just a complete turn off for me. It's really a shame because the production, acting, and everything else was really well done. I just didn't like it! :(
