From ep7, we can see Mariko is very conflicted about the situation with Yukimura, because she's divided into objectively knowing that his behaviour should be scaring her, it should be wrong. Because that is the logical conclusion she should draw, and she knows she should find it weird and creepy. But she doesn't. When Yukimura was getting pushed away and out of her life by the policeman, we could see her laying down and desperately missing Yukimura and wanting him back.
She gets agitated because at her core she is a logical person, and these feelings for Yukimura are very illogical. I could deep dive into how much Yukimura is perfect for her. I think Mariko is quite a lonely person and she needs someone like Yukimura who she clicks with and who will always be there for her quietly and supportive without being overly imposing. This confliction between her two sides is shown when the subjective, emotional side of her comes out at the end of ep7, she expresses her frustration at Yukimura because she really doesn't want him to leave her.
Mariko knows it should be "wrong", but she deeply loves him - not overlooking his behaviour, but she loves him because of his behaviour, his personality, and how perfectly they click together.
So many differences between Yukimura and the policeman, their personalities and thoughts and especially their behaviours just shows how Yukimura is the one who belongs with Mariko.
The policeman/murderer/whatever, imposes himself on her without a true care for Mariko's actual needs and feelings, he just acts off his own baseless assumptions. He's the type to go: "see, look how much I've done for you, I deserve to have something in return." As we know now, he never cared about Mariko as a person but "likes" her because she looks like her mother.
Yukimura has subtly, quietly watched over Mariko for many years without any inkling of expectation in return. He is doing this because he values her wellbeing and happiness, not for his own selfish gain, which means he is willing to put his own needs well behind him so hers can be met. I think the only "selfish" thing he has done is following her social media because he desperately wants to know her true thoughts and feelings, but if she puts it on social media it's not like he is invading anything anyways. Yukimura never forces himself on her, only making himself known when Mariko needs someone there for her.
Everything about this drama, I find so beautiful and well synchronised. Every scene feels like it flows naturally, and I am almost getting addicted to watching. The plot is also very well integrated into the love story between Yukimura and Mariko instead of being an afterthought (which some shows it can feel like) and it's making me so invested.
I honestly cannot understand how people are villainizing little Jane to such an extent. Yes, his actions are frustrating because it prevents them from being together, and he does hurt P'Jane by pushing him away. But it is not difficult to understand why little Jane is doing this - it's so obvious he is not toxic or any of this crap you guys are spewing. He just doesn't know what else to do.
In his eyes, by accepting the favour it is taking advantage of big Jane, which he desperately doesn't want to do because he loves him. That's it. He is not being manipulative at all. He loves big Jane so much he can't stand the idea of taking advantage of him like everyone else does, even when that decision is probably for the best. Little Jane has so much responsibility to take care of his family and his siblings which should not be on his shoulders - what else can he do when there is a problem? I bet y'all would also be crying if he constantly ran to big Jane to demand his help like a little sugar baby.
Don't get me wrong. I love P'Jane and he hasn't done anything to harm little Jane at all, and he just wants to help him. In my opinion, neither of them are toxic at all. And seeing all these comments blaming little Jane so much - it's crazy.
I almost have no words, simply because i cannot express how much i love this show. its full of clever double entendres and parallels (ren guang xi meeting mu cheng both in the past and in the present from his car stopping in front of a bus) everything is so beautiful and thought out and comes together perfectly, even though riddled with clique parents who need to get a grip.
the bird they saved named named xiao le, which she called their son. them being separated time and time again from either their own blind efforts thinking they are saving each other or from interference from others tearing them apart. the amnesia. the lying from ren guang xi's family and the girl who he was engaged to and blindsided by for so many years, disgusting.
undoubtedly, my favourite episodes are 1-10 during the past. their love story is so beautiful and breathtaking. enemies to lovers, constant clashing and awful personality from ren guang xi, who ultimately softens because mu cheng makes him a better person and brings out the goodness inside of him that was inside him all along, just buried underneath years and years of resentment and hatred.
i cried so so hard when they were preparing for his surgery, when he was curled up in a ball and during those episodes when they were trying so hard to be happy together until it was ultimately ripped away. its melancholic in a sort of way, but beautiful nonetheless.
They always conveniently crop out the face of the person committing the illegal acts. My bet is that its not Yukimura doing anything, that's just what they want us to believe
I worry so much the police will raid Yukimura's apartment and find the incriminating stalker diaries he keeps... I dread how this will progress because I really want him and Mariko be together, and I do think that they will end up together in the end.
To be completely honest, I believe he is EXACTLY what she needs - someone who sees her for her true self, knowing her strengths and flaws and the intricacies of her personality, not someone who barely cares or wants something from her in return. Someone who loves her for herself, and wants the best for her, and is willing to do absolutely anything in order to protect her.
Sidenote: most people freak out and clutch their pearls as soon as a stalker or anything remotely different from the vanilla norm is mentioned, but remember this is fiction. I'm rooting for these two because they are adorable together!!
