Yeah, I agree the police plot side is weak in this drama. They seem to have just accepted there are Nours without doing much to try and stop them as if they are just regular criminals, which they are not

YES YES YES you get me. I'm so tired of vampire shows never having the guts to actually show a dark and twisted vampire relationship AND WE FINALLY GOT IT. the depravity of that scene was absolutely DELICIOUS

Dark vampire romance is something that calls to me on such a deep level. There’s something so hauntingly beautiful about a romance that exists beneath the shadow of impending tragedy - the idea of two people finding something so beautiful and consuming in each other, even when you know it can’t possibly end well. The decision to turn them so that you can live together forever, even if it goes against their wishes, it's not something us as humans can really criticise because we will never experience eternal loneliness and depression. There’s something so deeply sad about the idea of turning the other so they can remain together, knowing that their love is so strong that they would willingly abandon mortality itself just to have more time with each other.

I just want to say something because I've seen so many comments here complaining. Yes, vampires kill people. This is not the real world. I don't understand people who apply real world morals to a fictitious species in a fantasy setting and say "they should all die and if you like them then you should die" because it's so stupid to me 😂. If you aren't comfortable with vampires and morally grey characters then get out?

One of my favourite scenes has to be Chita saving Ji with the girl’s blood, and the nc following it. The cinematography is absolutely ethereal. It’s so deeply romantic that he would literally do anything to keep Ji alive, and it just shows how incredibly deep their love for each other is. I’m absolutely living for the dark vampire romance dynamic between Chita and Ji, and I don’t care what any of you say - Chita is my favourite character.

This is seeming to be my most favourite series of this year. Beautiful, twisted and melancholic. 10/10

Because your opinion is subjective. There are many BLs with no side couple, and the majority of viewers enjoy watching side couples. From episode 8 and 9 I have begun to love Chita and Ji even more than James and Ken because I find their love story and scenes more captivating and pulls on my heartstrings. I don't think they ruin the flow of the story at all, which is my view.

Beautifully said. I wavered a tiny bit when grandpa laid the blanket on Pio, then i remembered that grandpa is literally the source of his suffering. A few niceties cannot simply make up for a whole life of emotional torture, not happening.

Also, I can't believe there are still people who think they might be related. The writer just spelt out that they are inspired from a love story and it went right over your heads?? If they did the cliche "they are brothers all along" that would just cheapen the plot and the whole message of the story too.

I love the eloquent and detailed explanation the writer responded with in her interview, and it really shows the complexity of her thought process, her deep understanding of characters emotions and how she beautifully crafted the relationship between Jeongyo and Pio. I already was aware of the inspiration from Salieri (as Pio) and Mozart (as Jeongyo), how tragic this story might become, but the news about them also being inspired by the captivating love story between Catherine (Pio) and Heathcliff (Jeongyo) from Wuthering Heights is so devastatingly beautiful. It pains me to say, but from what we know of the endings for these references, we can predict how the tragic finale might play out. Salieri tried to slit his throat, Catherine has a mental breakdown and starves herself, and subsequently Heathcliff does the same to join her in death as he can't live without her.

The comparison the writer makes between them as "a hungry wolf loves a lamb" took my breath away with how it encapsulates their entire dynamic in one image: Jeongyo as the predator, Pio as the prey, and yet neither quite able to resist the pull between them. "A lamb is prey to satisfy the hunger for a wolf, but the moment it comes to love that lamb, the wolf falls into a contradiction between its desires and love." "unharmable because he loves, unreleasable because he hates".

They complete each other’s souls so profoundly that neither can ever truly let the other go, no matter how much hatred and pain they inflict upon one another. Beneath all of it, they are in love, so deeply intertwined that I could even go as far as to say they no longer know who they are without the other in their lives.

I simply do not understand how anyone could come to the conclusion that they are "just friends" and not realise how completely idiotic they sound (and using the same cliche homophobic phrase too is just dumbfounding). I remember fighting for hours against homophobes in this comment section when there was only 2 episodes released. They spewed such disgusting bullshit, I know they might still be watching and seeing the news about the author's explanation, and I'm so happy to imagine them seething with rage.

When Jaein took advantage and kissed Pio while he was at his lowest, they applauded because "delusional BL fans didn't get what they wanted". Well, look at whose clapping now, buddy.

Apologies for the rant, but I'm very passionate about this drama and the love story between Jeongyo and Pio. This drama is a masterpiece with a captivating narrative and complex characters, and no bland hate from idiots who can't process this complicated story can change that.

The whole debate is full of stupid people calling themselves out because they don't have the capacity to analyse and understand more than one point of view, and they don't even fully understand one side either.

They are both suffering and have both made mistakes, but other characters in the show have done way more horrible things than either of them.

It always makes me laugh when Jaein is referred to as the female lead or a main character, since it seems like even the grandpa has had more screentime than her lmao. I'm confused why she is listed as a main character since she's definitely a support role.
