Despite all the negative comments, I find myself oddly attached to Po and Sasom. They are a cute couple. I get annoyed when people say "there's not plot" because, I'm sorry, but these are romance shows. Most of the time, the plot literally is how the relationship develops into a deeper connection, and thats what I love about it. This show starts off hot with the NCs, but we see the subtle changes in the characters feelings from it being just physical to something stronger. This is something to turn off your brain to and just flow with the characters.
This was so fun thank you!!! Also you are CRUEL for making me pick between Wei Wei and Da On as the baby of the group T-T (Tankhun is always the weirdo, obviously)
I'm convinced many people here just simply can't appreciate mini kbls like this. They say they are "pointless" "without a plot" or "unnecessary" but these are love stories, therefore the plot is them...falling in love. They are slow, short and sweet, yet packed with silent emotions that are expertly portrayed even within the limited budget and time frame. These shows are created with the sole purpose of following the ups and downs of the characters, whether the debate of following their feelings or keeping them a secret in order to sustain the valuable connection they have with the other person. Maybe the shows use different love interests to make the leads realise their feelings and catalyse their confessions. It's about youth and purity and innocent people navigating through their feelings.
The literal point of these shows is to portray the relationships that develop between the characters, and if you need 4 random plot twists 11 betrayals and 6 deceptions to be entertained, than this style of drama is not for you.
the first couple in episode 1 and 2 now have their own series call The Nameless Season, 6 episodes on Youtubehttps://kisskh.at/797144-the-nameless-season
one of the most meaningful japanese dramas i've ever watched. the way the scenes are shot is silently stunning with the technique of how they captured the emotions in one long uncut take, the actors are highly skilled.
please do watch the original boy next world, its a masterpiece :)
Even though you don't believe that a certain show is a masterpiece doesn't take away from other peoples understanding of it and their enjoyment. The Boy Next World has exceptional underlying emotional substance, the yearning and angst between the characters is thought out and well portrayed by Boss and Noeul, the OST is carefully crafted, and even though the plot may have not been executed perfectly does not remove from the fact that the story is fresh and not the same recycled and overused tropes that is prevalent nowadays. I see so much hate on these shows simply because they are by Mame and contain non-conventional "dark" or "problematic" themes, so I would love to know your genuine thoughts about TBNW and why you think calling it a masterpiece isn't accurate.
