I'm not "blaming it on the BL community" at all, since I am proud to be in it myself. I'm saying that there are many people from the west who are very very loud with their opinions trying to police "immoral" concepts, and that your arguments saying it is Koreans is wrong.

I don't know why you think the BL community is tiny because it takes one look at viewcounts and engagement on streaming services and social media to know this is not true. There are millions of people in the BL community. Yes, there are way more people in the kdrama community, but still, the BL community is in no way "tiny".

So many baseless assumptions. I'm British and I barely watch UK shows - I watch many foreign shows, from Spain, Germany, America, Sweden, but especially Asian series. Literally why I'm here, since the majority of what I watch is Asian media...

Asian media has hugely gained in popularity in the west in recent years, and especially since this site is 99% dedicated to English speakers, I can assure you the majority of people here are not Asian.

The large outcry when there are "immoral" themes usually stem from international fans. For example, manhwa which contain these themes are absolutely battered with hate from foreign fans while praised by the Asian fans.

Anyways, you simply cannot say "Koreans are cancer", because anything you have said is not something I want to listen to.

Again, like I've said, kdramas are more globally popular and mainstream internationally, particularly with younger audience, compared to jdramas and cdramas. It has nothing to do with Korean people, it is literally the masses of international viewers crying about the age gaps. These people are less likely to watch jdramas and cdramas, therefore you see less backlash.

My point still stands, since many people in the BL community are also a part of the kdrama community. The whole demographic overlaps: lots of younger international fans who hold puritanical views.

The kinds of people who watch BL and straight kdramas are not really the type of people who will watch noona dramas. They are for completely different target audience, hence the different reactions.

I think you are looking at this from completely the wrong lens. The reason why the comment section here is full of these comments while those noona shows are not is probably because these are two different genres for very different demographics.

BL fans are increasingly younger, cannot separate fiction from reality and have more puritanical mindset. This explains why commenters here are saying the age gap is "disgusting" because they can't handle the idea of teacher/student relationship. I bet these types of people don't watch noona shows and therefore there is not the same backlash, but I wouldn't know because I have never watched one and don't ever plan to.

I love recognising people's profiles on random bl pages and yours is the one that is most memorable to me, not only cause ur nick haha but because I think we have such simil taste and opinions. It really makes me happy when I go on a niche and dark bl series/movie, feeling sad as i scroll through the comments full of hate and then see a nice comment you made saying lovely things about it, you warm my heart so much. I see comments you've made even from months ago and I want to reply but I don't want to seem weird haha. It's nice there are some really kind BL people on here, it's like a small community I'm friends with I spot on different pages from time to time. It makes coming on this site so much better lol

Maybe it's because the story isn't about her...? Of course the emotional moments are just between Pio and Jeongyo because this is a love story about them - the series is literally called Four Hands Two Sonatas for god's sake. The writer created this to tell their story, and it's not "misogynistic" for her to play a smaller role. At best she is a support role, so it's only natural for her character to be a catalyst in Pio and Jeongyo's relationship.

It is dramatic already, doesn't need silly random plot twists.

I agree somewhat with your first points. They are being selfish, but that's not really something they can be condemned for since it's their own feelings. Of course you are going to want to keep the person you love alive, even if they don't want to be themselves. And of course you are still going to want to die even if there is someone who truly loves you.

Chita's hatred for all Nours is born from his fire of vengeance and more than can be explained by hunting "evil". It's not reasonable, and killing all Nours is not right at all. But he is not coming from a logical stance, he's acting from the intense vengeance of how he was created.
