A Splendid match lead me here lol. I was putting off this series before bc when I watched sijin, the actor has such underwhelming presence & idk Renmin yet at that time so there is just no motivation to watch it. Lou Shen Yuan suits the lead actor. I am still not convinced if he really can pull off characters that are not like this one with intentionally suppressed brilliance/presence. This series has no wow factor or is not super good but it has solid flow of events so it is still a fun watch.
- This series with two interconnected revenge plots of ml and fl have the best potential to be really good but they fumble in the execution of the such good synopsis. First 14 eps have exciting flirting of ml and fl but it's borderline boring. It picked up in ep 15, things got interesting but idk there's something off & lack of connection of events it did not seem believable to me.
- Romance: chemistry is there, their enemy-like tension is actually exciting but the fl is too intent on her revenge she is just borderline using the ml. I get her but she just pissed me off sometimes.
So much potential but it did not met my expectations 😭

Even with translation mistake, they could have put a scene after the dream of eunho waking up to make it looks like it's just a dream instead of being the last scene or make the scene with soft light or glow blur to make it look like a dream. Idk they fcked that up lol.
Can someone please explain this ending for me? WTF hahaha
someone said the last part (when they are back in the classroom wearing uniform & eunho was asking about the date) is just another dream like eunho was just trying to kinda go back to his younger self to have the courage to share his feelings during that time
It has so much potential but the last two eps are just trash and I would rather they end it at ep 8.
***On the side note, the actor playing Cha Dohyun has the best look (particularly his eyes) fit for villain roles esp psychopaths. I hope he'll improve and see him as villain in the future.
Enjoyed watching this. Both the ml and the fl are smart, lowkey ruthless but with morals. They were perfect for each other. Started out good, it got a bit boring when they went to the Capital but it picked up quickly with even more tense scenes. They initially wanted to attain power and wealth to protect themselves but got embroiled into the dangerous court matters, loss a lot & realized peace is more important.
I never heard salt being mentioned too many times like that often in my life than in this series lol. That made me search how significant the salt trade & taxes were during that period.
***I would sympathize with Madam Yu but she killed countless people without conscience & thrown her child under the bus many times to preserve the prestige & power of their family so yeah....
