Love triangle is a trope (like enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, fake relationship or second chance romance), and it's the core story (written in the synopsis) so I kinda expected it. All have same core tropes but different characters and way of story telling. What I meant by what I said in my comment is that most authors frequently default to returning ex as their "source of conflict" in romantic stories and personally (I don't force anyone to think the same), it's a lack of imagination. I know that also frustrates some readers with romance novels or in this case, audience of dramas.
It was light, straightforward, cute and with a little emotional backstory. Aside from the cliche ex came back (I wish scriptwriters/authors actually think a little more & stop using that for conflict), I quite enjoy watching it. After watching a series with toxic ml, Kang Ha Gi is a breath of fresh air.
***The scene of protest and hate train to the fl by the fans is a little too real like realising it actually happened irl gave me goosebumps. It's crazy the length fans go even to the point of inconveniencing people who did not do anything just because their idols refused to speak up to clarify things because of their what, image???

Great chemistry between then ml and the fl. The director and/or scriptwriters also know the right atmosphere and angle for intimate the scenes to make it more beautiful and appealing to the audience. Dog is the cutest.
Okay, we have our fair share of possessive mls who are cute when they are not borderline stalkerish but Luke is a different breed bruh💀 What I can't move forward from is when he get his man-feelings hurt, his first instinct/reactions are to belittle her, make her feel small, gaslight her she is in the wrong and make her believe he is shacking up with another woman. I wish there was a friend who knew about that who would say how amazing she is every time he belittle her. I just can't romanticize that no matter how hot he looks. He just pissed me off.
On the side note, I hope all women realise our worth and not tolerate bs from men, employers or anyone else irl 🙌✨

It's sad, how hard it is to read the novel, get the important parts and write it in a script. They are being lazy and not doing their job. Must be why the live adaptation of the novels most of the time do not deliver.

If this is in real life, I would say run girl 😭 But since this is a romance novel and the author would surely not let their hero be an asshole the whole time, I would say give him a chance I mean look at him lol. Bc of his past, the ml's first reaction to being hurt is to hurt her back then apologize after. The fl does not communicate to him even out of respect. It was an annoying cycle for both of them. And they get back together again and again bc they need each other without working out their previous issues. It was classic miscommunication authors pull in every romance novel, gosh.
Setting aside the occasional frustrations about their behavior, the chemistry is insane though and director knows all the right intimacy shots the audience (women) will love.

After a month long of back & forth putting it on hold and watching it and with the power of skip button, I finally finished it. Had high hopes on this series bc of the hype and the main leads but it's like when you read a novel, won't stop reading it waiting for it to get better but it's 5am already and you still keep waiting, still not getting anything. Rather than getting immersed into the story & romance, I feel disconnected. Idk maybe I just did not expect for the present to be at ep 20s?
I get the fl has issues but I feel like when they were teenagers she did not really love him. She started to approach him bc of her mom but I didn't feel like she get passed that motive. No eureka moment when she realised she came to care about him more. Suddenly they were eloping like wth. Again, I feel disconnected. I was not convinced of their love.
I tried hard to finish & like it though but yeah 😭

Honestly, this is why I love japanese bls the most. The way they build the tension, the right atmosphere, angle and even shot scenes beautifully are so good even the subtle glance and eventually hand holdings make me hold my breath. I'd scream over their subtle lip touch than all those intimate scenes in other bls lol.
For the past months, this and Fake fact lips are the only ones among those bls I watched that not only have lead casts perfect fit for the characters with good acting and have chemistry but also have solid plot that never loses its narrative momentum from the beg to the end without relying on overdramatizing of scenes/storylines.
With the vertical dramas trend, I am afraid scriptwriters/directors think that's the key to hold the interest of the audience which is sad because if the plot just flows naturally, it looks more real, personal and resounds better to the audience.
I enjoyed reading this novel before...short, straightforward & solid plot. I also like the writing style of this author. It was pretty clean and tame on skinship though but I wonder if they will level up the spice in this series bc this is domundi after all lol.
I'll probably wait until it is completed before starting it bc thai dramas took forever to release their eps.
