This series is seriously underrated. I think a lot of people werent expecting it to be as dark as it was. There was a lot of family politics and power games between the main couple.

And I dont think people realize Liu Xiao Fan is exactly where he wants to be... he loves his role... but part of the story is him accepting that and also Bei Lu Qing accepting his own desires. Not just being gay but that they enjoy their power dynamic.

Bank is such a great actor. He's really pulling off this role perfectly. He is both powerful and very cute, but not sentimental. This is why its great having talented and experienced actors.

Still one of my favorite dramas but I honestly skip the second couple. The main couple's storyline is just too beautiful.

Deep In, Nour, Bittersweet Love, and The Last Oath are my most recent favorites!

Love these type of dark power play games. So fun. There have been so many good series with power game dynamics recently.

Honestly very few other GL compare to GAP for me. Their chemistry is SO natural, and have real personality. The storyline lets the characters develop into 3D characters who are playful, intelligent, and have strengths and flaws.

definitely give it another try. those episodes are just setting up the characters and giving them room to breath... then they take off running haha

Chinese dramas always do this haha. they want the super tiny waist but broad masculine shoulders...

this is the answer.... except I binge watched Deep In as a distraction while I painfully wait for more episodes of Winter Sun

This was actually so great... love what they did with the narrative. China is really flexing now that the guardrails are down. Crazy chemistry, daring actors, great storyline, and high production value... its hard to beat

There are some Chinese shows that feel highly produced and polished for sure but just as many are very natural and human. If you like the more naturalistic acting and production check out Blue Canvas of Youthful Days, The Sparkle In Your Eye, Winter Sun Wakes The Wind, Lost To You, even Addicted 2016. All of these are very "real" feeling and some of my favorite BL from the last couple years.
