thats what I meant. the recent dramas. I didnt like forecasting love n weather, and love in contract as well. when the weather is fine was very underwhelming. every drama b4 these are iconic. and now this will be as well.
Off topic question here.I wonder... there's a lot of slapping scenes in the dramas. Is it a cultural thing? Is…
your concerns are valid and you've answered your own question, if it was not common and actually frowned upon, there would have been an uproar, but considering how common it is to see such violent behavior in kdramas, I've come to think its not far from reality. or atleast has some truth to it. and also it's good to note that Korean culture is very different from even other asian cultures, as someone from another asian country, hitting adult kids is frowned upon, although I've never been hit even as a kid, which again says how diff cultures and households raise their kids and slapping a stranger is unimaginable. There may be some reality into it but also take it w a grain of salt.
Sumin is really a psychotic person, she not only covets whatever Jiwon has, she wants Jiwon to be below her or even ruin her. Like the falling in the pond act, she knew Jiwon would jump and then she wanted both of them to die. I've no idea what even would be a proper punishment for such a person. Definitely not forgiveness and she doesnt even deserve minwhan atp. I'm so glad ml's grandpa and sis n the assistant are good ppl, I'd have lost it if they were typical classist chaebols w everyone being against jiwon. this is one of the best kdramas rn! PMY's acting chops really shine through in this.
So happy and nostalgic to have both Park Shin Hye and Park Min Young's rom com dramas airing concurrently. They were once the it girls of rom com genre in 2010s. Its always a pleasure to watch them in this genre. Such naturally expressive queens they are!
(My personal opinion)The actors do their best and I really appreciate their hard work but the plot is not convincing…
yup, 20 mins in the script stupidies are glaring imo. I watch this w a wtf moment every 2 mins. Its sad coz the production quality and actors are good tho.
I feel like this is gonna be a mix of Perfect marriage revenge and dr.cha. the time jump aspects are very similar to PMR - like both leads from future, cheating hubby, revenge aspect. I feel minwhan might have a redemption arc like dr.cha's hubby. considering he still tried to reignite their relationship, and he might fall for her again when she changes her personality and takes back her agency. also our ml is such a goody two shoes like in both dramas, always helping her w/o telling and liking her silently.
He is not a cancer patient, I think he committed suicide after finding out that the FL passed away
its not like they were complete strangers in the past. they were colleagues, and imo his character is like a secret admirer of her but he couldn't do anything since she was blindly in love with her bf in the past.
....pretty sure he also got betrayed by someone close so he came back to the past like FL
yup, both have similar setup. fl lives a miserable life, her hubby actually loved her step sis and then she dies in an accident, goes back in time 1 yr back I think, then approaches ml, marries him and avenges her step mom n sis. and ml is also from the future, due to the same accident involving fl, and he has always liked fl since b4 she got married. so quite similar.
....pretty sure he also got betrayed by someone close so he came back to the past like FL
hope that's not the case, although no idea how they'll wrap up this jump back to past trope. that would make it way too similar to prefect marriage revenge. its already similar enough.
Spellbound! However concerning her physical appearance is, PMY knows how to act man!! Some of the scenes reminded me of 2013 kdrama era when female leads weren't afraid of being more expressive facially and PMY used to rule the romcom genre. This was a good start. excited for more expressive PMY and the pairing seems promising.
