this drama turned into a nice surprise. loving the fight scenes - so far. production quality is good too. Yang Yang is almost too pretty and its mesmerizing. looks like the FL showed up to act her socks off. lets see how this develops. fingers crossed.
Gosh I have never seen this ML but gosh he is damn fine, one of the most handsome Chinese actors yet.
Someone said earlier that he looks a bit like a youngerTakeshi Kaneshiro - and all the sudden he does. I like the ML best when he is all about the percision swordfight (Legend of Heroes).
I think Chen Feiyu did an amazing job in his role, but, him smiling was annoying lol. kinda took away the coolness…
Agree with your point about 400. Her face - as many times as it was on the screen - did look the part. Think that is a better way to make my point. 😂 I enjoyed Chen Feiyu in When Destiny Brings the Demon. It suited his voice, style, and an 'unhappy/serious' face on him is more attractive.
Tried to watch. Found the first episode instinctually stomach churning. The effect did not wear off. Its not possible to continue - for all the reasons previously identified by others here on the site (e.g., age). Its unfortunate as I am an almost fan of Li Yun Rui. Fingers crossed he gets better at picking projects.
Tian Jia Rui is an acting savant. A pure hearted person comes through underneath whatever role he is acting in. Reminding me once again of why he and Cheng Lei connected so well on MJTY - like hearted men in a less-than-hearted Cdrama industry. Makes me want the personal best for both of them.
The director had, once again, his very own wet dream with someone else's money. Good for him. Setting aside reports of his monstrous temperament, the fact that he had so many injuries and near injuries on the set of this drama lets us know just how much he values his 'cut out figures' of men he wishes for. He used a 'complicated' story line to justify moving his Ken dolls around and changing their outfits which was and was not eerie. The twisted - his twisted - comes through loud and clear. Twisted and yet still interesting.
On a side note - its the first time finding Joseph Zeng even quasi attractive. That was a nice bonus.
Finally, Ju Jing Yi found her ultimate once in a life time drama/character/acting match. Not all 'okay actors' are afforded such a prize.
This was not for everyone. It had its ups and downs. For me mostly down. The 'match' did feel like auntie/nephew. His acting was subpar. Looking forward to him getting better or focusing on movies. All the smiling scenes did not help - its not his 'handsome face'. He looks and acts better in a 'somber mood'. She looked bored through most of this - character persona aside. Bored and 'oldish'. The youthful sparkle is gone and she is finally a bonafide femme fatale. She should leave her face alone - as is - for a while and run with this new 'mature' strength.
Hate on arthur all you want, its not going to affect him. He needs acting lessons, oh you need new eyes. Going…
Nonsense. Per usual. Where is the hate? Been on this site for years and posting for nearly a year now. Its my opinion. Nothing on his father either. They share the same facial structure / mouth. How is that unusual or an insult? I have no issue either way with Arthur. IMO - his acting in this particular drama is subpar. Its why we are here BTW - to share our opinion.
Arthur has always been excellent in his role. Dono y ppl watch him with prejudice
I loved him in When Destiny Brings the Demon - not sure what is going on here. Script, directing, not his acting sweet spot - who knows. Its not working for him.
I am right there with you CV - Edward Guo has lost his own plot. This first round of episodes is like his wet…
I am happy to hear that. Both TJR and Cheng Lei - who played brothers in MJTU - give off such 'good-guy-at-heart' guys. Its hard to not want the best for them.
Gave this a real chance - 11 episodes is more than enough. What in goodness name is going on? This s+ht is just weird. Wanted to like it given all the peeks inside their romance outtakes on line. This, for me, turns out to be a nah - no thank you drama. Dilraba is a stunning as ever in her usual knock knock who's there acting style. Arthur, on the other hand, is absolutely dropping the acting ball mid-court. Can not remember the last time, in this caliber of a drama, I thought 'man needs acting lessons'. Makes a better model really - when they catch him in a frozen close up he looks hot - well until he smiles that crooked smile that looks JUST like his fathers and I can not tell the two apart. The directing is equally as bad which is a shame as its a female director and I am always up for supporting them - usually no matter what. This drama, unfortunately crosses the 'I just can not' line.
Before y'all bash me, I really need to say that all Guo Jingming's dramas are "all styles, no substances",…
I am right there with you CV - Edward Guo has lost his own plot. This first round of episodes is like his wet dream / music video / fashion shoot with too much silk drapery gone all the way wrong. That being said, My Journey to You is one of my all time favorites. Fangs of Fortune was mesmerizing to the point that I did not concern myself with the 'no substance' 'too many tears' truth of the drama - I enjoyed the heck out of it anyway. My biggest concern at this point is for SML Tian Jia Rui who signed a contract with this disturbed director. With so much acting promise its a crime to imagine him left in the hands of such a _____.
