You say the FL is the “weak link,” but maybe you’re just not used to a different acting rhythm. Not everyone…
Style, substance and acting opinion in historical drama context . Would have thought and commented the same way if she was in NIF. Its not working - yet.
Oh, I don't see anyone mentioning it but the actor who plays Guanfeng knocked it out of the park in the reunion…
Thought the exact same thing - boom, another mic drop acting moment. Oh, and he is sus for certain. There was no confirmation back that he is who he says he is. ML just took it at face value.
Still too early to judge, she had too little airtime, I'm waiting for the more intense scenes to express an opinion.
Usually I would agree with you. Though, for me its immediately glaring due to the other acting going on around her - from the very first scene. Willing to let it progress and see if my opionion changes.
Go ahead. Come on. I will take the hit. Hate away. Is there a story behind the selection of the FL actress?
To me the weak link in the drama - so far - is the FL. The seasoned actors throughout this drama are underacting their roles. Using internal energy, slight of facial expressions, and intriquing though subtle body movements. Seemless and compelling acting all around. FL is overacting in all aspects and not connecting with her surroundings nor the surrounding actors. I can imagine she is a wonderful contemporary actress. At least up until now, she is not seasoned enough to join the top tier historical team.
It seems to me that his stint in the Condor film has pushed his acting forward. That director was both demanding…
It is upgame. The changes in his facial features, breath modulation (voice) and body movements are indicative of real true martial arts training. If you watch some of the BTS of the Condor movie you can see how hard he worked on both his acting and martial arts training.
Spectacular drama, it gets better with each episode, if that's even possible! And let me tell a word of praise…
It seems to me that his stint in the Condor film has pushed his acting forward. That director was both demanding and nurturing. To me he is moving towards being an actor actor.
