Some thoughts partly from reading some comments.
I think that saddling Xinbai with face blindness and a rather sober personality when interacting directly with Nanxing made some people say that the chemistry was lacking. i think that Xinbai should have shown more facial reaction akin to a blind person. There are certain innate facial expressions common to blind and non-blind people. Not all facial expressions are visually learned nor dependent on seeing the other person's reaction. Have Xinbai show no reaction to facial expressions but respond to the speaking and also the context of the dialog. I also thought that Commander Shang should have retained some of his stick up his wazoo personality when he was falling for Sai'er, who should have retained her rough uncultured personality. She should kept some clothing or mannerism to contrast with the city women. His love for Gaya could also have been a stumbling block that kept him apart from Sai'er. I also think that Suoluo should have been more active in resisting her engagement with Yan Biqing. She should also have actively chased Ruoqian against the wishes of her Mother and her family. It would have matched her "take no prisoners war" with her brother. And it would stand in contrast with the other two couples. Just my two cents worth. I did enjoy the drama very much.
The way Fort looks at Peat is just something else.
Ugh I love this so much
Mut's character is so well-written. I love that he doesn't care what others say, only listens to people that matter. There is no shame in hard work and trying to make a living. It feels like a moral lesson: as long as we are at peace with ourselves, everybody else's judgments won't matter anymore.
There are lots of emotional scenes in todays episode.. some made me cry...
1. Omelet rice scene - where Tongrak cried when he realized kindness and love for the first time in his life - Peat acted so well ... we can see his pain ....
2. When Mut said in the dressing room - he only cares about the what people he cares think about him - Forts dialog delivery is top notch
3. The conflict scene between Rak and Prin... both delivered excellent acting there
4. Scenes where Rak protected Mahasamut from others..
5. Their gentle kiss scene at the dressing room - it gave me butterflies
I love both Peat and Forts acting in this episode. MutRak may not be aware of it yet... But they have a red thread strong connection .. They are protecting each other... its a development of strong relationship.
Nanxing could have fought better, but the needles depend on surprise, I'm thinking. Suoluo and Ruoqian's story probably had much left on the editing room floor.
And I love Joe! But I recognize that he’s an idiot. On the other hand, Ming is very intelligent, which creates an interesting contrast. Ming was raised not to let people walk all over him, unlike Joe. In the end, they fit well together because neither of them is really... a green flag. Joe is dangerous to himself, with no survival instinct, pride, or self-respect, while Ming is the exact opposite. Together, they complement each other’s weaknesses perfectly.
Joe has started to change Ming. Now it’s Joe’s turn to start... being less idiotic and naive. But I guess that’s not the point of the series. I suppose we’re meant to think Joe is perfect, even though he clearly has issues too.
Ying and Yang.
I laughed so hard for that scene, he made a big entrance with soldiers behind just to directly go check on Sai'er hahaha, Shang Bie Li, Shang Bie Li😂I'm comforted we have side couples' stories worth keeping us sane these past episodes ♥️♥️
I hope SL use some of her wits and work together with RQ to kick that Yan Bi Qing's ass. They're both intelligent but she has more power to deal with this annoying marriage and love triangle
The side couples' love stories kept my interest in these last episodes. Will there be some confession for the next episodes? 🥰
I am with you that SL should be making the move, she has the status and position, plus the empress loves her. RQ is smart but what can that do when he's still just a slave, powerless to fight for love.
On ep 31, she uses her body to block the soldier from attacking, but she can definitely beat him in a fight based on her previous fighting skills.
The business rival stuff didn't make sense at all because look how quickly ML-mom was able to cause trouble the first time around. You'd think she'd be worse to someone messing with her DIL especially joining forces with her daughter. But, she was a no show.
Then we got another man she's making body parts for.
Kudos to all the actors playing her other "looks" , they brought their a-game.
