8.1 is too low for this drama. Sure it is not perfect but it is 8.5 for me. I don't know what happened but this drama rating dropped to 7.7 at some point which is bs.
I think they test the water with all of those tease. To it to see people reaction if scandal still matters. But so far, it was positive and people wanted it to airing instead talking about SFL scandal.
I feels Taiga dramas generally disliked for predictable plot and boring. Not to mention drama always have same period , Shogunate era. Most of Taiga drama is biography of past politician/warlord. No one find it interesting. They need doing more fantasy and out of box genre. Moribito was kinda cool but is just only one fantasy drama.
Sadly Japanese seems incapable doing historical live action adaptation. So many their anime/manga adaptation just mediocre or just straight bad. China is vastly better doing historical dramas but it also some restriction as we know.
