We even don't touch the biggest mystery of the the drama. Ghost army at very early episode. This entire drama is slowburn to solve that final puzzle.

If you watch historical classic such The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, it barely have any females. Even they don't show wife of main characters.

They have no connection at all. You will not find anything at all by watching other dramas. The only they took from parents dramas is the genre , mystery drama with ancient tomb filled with puzzle. This drama is political heavy but they still incorporated those aspect as plot device.

Good thing, it is original script. So we can only guess. If it is based a novel, someone else already spoil it.

Entire ML family massacred by Marquis which is not the biggest fish. No one bat an eye and the bad guy took his position afterwards. It is not that important and proved my point again. At least, that's what they wanted to convey in drama.

ML's father was skilled Astronomer but still do not prevent his dead. Astronomer is disposable without power. It was medieval era, skill only do not guarantee their life. You need some backing from more powerful people.

Not as high as Minister or Eunuch. Definitely lower than Noble such Prince, Marquis or Duke. Hence why ML never look for trouble with anyone, his job pretty much extremely disposable.
