Going to watch the latest 2 episodes tonight but with what all of you said about the end of 8, then I guess the snowflake on the calendar is most likely episode 11. π’ So much angst coming so soon. Gotta prepare for that moment.
SAME I left it after the 4th life cuz i dosen't wanted to spoil myself much
Oh but going back to find the stone origin was the angsty part of the story and made it quite touching. If you ever get the chance, you should read after the drama ends.
For fellow novel readers - anyone else slightly disappointed that they changed up the reason why they're going…
Yes! I enjoyed that the most. That's what made it exciting to see the growth of the leads. And made me fall in love with Chu kong. But with the way they're doing the story line here, it makes sense but just lots of added things that cater more towards drama style of telling. It's still good but the set up is taking time to get used to.
Finished all 6 episodes. Not a bad start but I feel there's a lot going on with all these added extra characters. I mean how many people were going to jump in that pond turned ocean once underneath? It was unexpectedly funny lol.
Although things are changed, I like that they're still keeping Lu Chang Kong just as sweet towards Xiangyun. That turning lantern thingy was so cute. He's such a sensible sweetheart. I don't know if there will be a reference or reasoning behind this later, but I love the color palette of Chu Kong and Xiangyun. I'm living for the blue and pink pastel contrast.
Haha. Not at Lu Chang Kong looking cool and calm as the general in court but happily running into Song Mansion like a kid to find Xiangyun. This LCK is so whipped for Xiangyun. π He really wrote to her every 3 days while away. And every plan she has to "ruin" the marriage always backfires. I love the humor. π
But I just remembered. Both their mortal dads are our immortal Dads in TTEOTM. Hope they have a good turnout this time around.
A random question for Novel readers. In as much as I like reading novels , I can't bring myself to read that of…
There are pros and cons about reading the novels as Youtoon says, if they diverge far from the story and it flops, it will be disappointing. But sometimes, the changes are better than the original story. Hope you enjoy the last immortal! π

I don't normally read the novels but I decided to read this for Ding Yuxi. I was too excited hearing him being in a Xianxia. Personally, reading a novel hypes me up or gives me insight on what I should expect. I know that dramas are usually adaptations which means there will be changes so I still keep my expectations low. Granted, some changes are disappointing, but even if I know what's coming, I like to see how it comes to life. The way the show depicts it can be very different from what I imagine it to be and can sometimes even be better. To each their own of course. As for this one, I actually like certain changes. It still keeps the light hearted vibe.
I'm about to catch up from ep.2 onwards but I'm happy to know there are many novel readers here too. The changes are different but so far, I do think it's nice the way they're taking it but I'll see after I finish the rest of the episodes. lol.
But I was looking at the schedule and there's a snowflake on Episode 11/12. If that part is still kept true, then I'm assuming lifetime 2 will end by then? Excited to see all the details from that lifetime flesh out.
Gosh... Seriously what was written in the synopsis would have been a better execution of how their tribulations…
Yes! This is probably why a lot of us cherish the novel. The set up was good and helped each life time make sense with how things came about for both of them and why they acted the way they did in each life.
To clarify for those asking: The synopsis above is from the novel. ML is no longer a star but changed to the Ancient War of God. FL seems to have been changed a little bit by already working in the marriage pavilion instead of being found by yue Lao to work in the pavilion.
