i'm on the final episode and there wasn't much happening most of the time. hangyeol's and jaegyu's backstory is interesting but besides that the romance is bland and bom's story is to say the least very boring. it's not that bad but with that plot it could've easily been a 2 hr movie
am i supposed to find funny that FL pressured the ML to let her inside his house and then drugged him? he even acknowledges how weird it was but she gets no consequences whatsoever, and the drama presents it as a fun, quirky occurrence.
after episode 4 i was genuinely hoping that if it the plot was going to be nonsensical at least the characters and the romance would save it, but FL is as bland as eating unseasoned chicken and ML is sometimes there, i guess. their relationship is boring too. i'm on episode 10 and it has been sooo tedious to watch, i do not care at all for what happens to these characters and i would've dropped it earlier but i might as well just finish the 2 episodes i have left. i'm very disappointed since i waited so long for this drama to be released but i just fail to find reasons to like it :/
on episode 4 currently: i'm not really a fan of the "split-personality" part, it feels so out of place and granted i haven't finished watching the whole drama, but it doesn't seem like they're going to treat it like an actual mental health issue and it's just going to be a quirky thing the FL experiences which is disappointing (adding to the fact that i don't really like FL's character). i was expecting something different from this drama;; i will be finishing it because i like most of it so far, but that part of the plot is such a huge turn off for me
what a wonderful journey was watching this series every saturday <3 i watched fish upon the sky when it was airing too and seeing pond & phuwin's growth throughout the years has been amazing. this was such a good romcom, i consider the ending to be a bit rushed but i enjoyed watching every moment. so excited to see the special episodes ^_^
i started this back when it was airing and i didn't pick it up again until now, and i was going in with low expectations but i'm liking it more than i expected so far (in episode 8 rn), i love the quiet, grey-ish colors, it creates a very intimate ambience. i also love phuwin's acting here, nuengdiao looks at palm like he wants to crawl inside him and i'm a huge fan of that
I like the series, I really do, and Thee is so pleasantly in love... he's sweet, but I don't feel like Peach is…
i understand your perspective and i hope i don't come off as disrespectful! it's just that your comment is interesting to me because the way i see it is that peach doesn't let his guard down at all, not even now that he's in a relationship with thee. there's a TLDR at the end because i ranted for too long lol
in episode 1, we're shown that peach's exes were always bored with him and he always had to be understanding (being the caretaker of his sister and having to earn money for both of them) i don't think he has ever had the chance to be the one who is taken care of. he has always been forced to take the role of the protector, and now having a relationship with someone that takes care of him, i think it's scary for him and he knows that if he lets himself relax, thee will do anything (and i mean anything) for him and we've seen that he doesn't want to be the sole focus of thee's life. considering that it's also his first relationship with a man, he's not sure of how the dynamic works between them when his only experience has been with women (this could explain why he still maintains some distance with him, or seems unsure when they're touching)
in episode 7, peach affirms that he was scared that thee wasn't going to like him for his upbringing. we know thee's father is very controlling and that his sons aren't supposed to date, and it's a possibility that dating thee could put peach and his sister in danger, so i think that's also a reason he keeps holding back. they grew up very differently, peach learned through his own experiences how relationships and money work in the world; tee only learned through his family and soap operas. money is disposable for thee and it's a necessity for peach, suddenly having someone that could probably pay for everything you need and want for the rest of your life (and your sister's) is a threat to peach's independency, thus making him feel overwhelmed and the one who draws the line between the two of them. in episode 8, we see that he hesitates a lot to say "i love you" back to thee, showing his fear, and the teaser for next week's episodes shows him allowing thee to bring some of his stuff to his house; he's allowing closeness but maintaining a clear distinction between his and thee's spaces.
and finally, peach doesn't seem to be the very lovey-dovey type like thee is. thee likes the closeness, the sweet words, the gifts, the grand gestures, etc. to show his love for peach, but peach seems to show his love in acts of service or small gifts (doing plub's work for her, the peach wind chime, the pin he gave to thee), which i know can be frustrating to people because they're watching for the romance but i don't think peach is that type of character. all of this could also be attritubed to phuwin's acting but that's another topic.
TLDR: peach doesn't want to lose his independency nor does he want thee's life to focus on him exclusively, which i think makes him appear too cold or distant, but he really does care for and loves thee. he just needs to find a way to be able to rely on thee without feeling scared to do so.
soon can u lmk how they resolved the conflict bcs it was unbearable to see taejun getting mistreated by his parents…
junyoung ends up forgiving taeyang for the accident and taejun and taeyang end up getting back together with both of their parents accepting their relationship! taejun and his mom also have a talk about not being a good son and mother. it does take until the final episode for tajeun's parents to stop mistreating him
i haven't finished this but i really dislike the second couple;; i don't like lee yumin at all. he already told her he needs time because he's not ready yet but she keeps insisting, making junghwan's issues about her only and telling him he does things wrong. her sole purpose is to be the new girlfriend and it really annoys me that she brings nothing more than that to the story. both taeyang and taejun have more chemistry with junghwan than her
Wait wut? You have proof that he sexually assaulted someone, was arrested and convicted? Tell me more........
...? that's what dispatch reported, yes. he wasn't accused, dispatch stated as a fact that he was sent to a juvenile detention center for robbery and sexual assault. he stole a woman's car with his friends and they proceeded to rape her inside the car. legally, he was arrested and received a sentence. you can read dispatch's original article here https://www.dispatch.co.kr/2336074. if you're going to defend a rapist at least own up to it and know the facts.
you would expect this to be worse from the comments (since i did too) but it genuinely wasn't that bad. they made the ex appear more than he should and too much family drama, but it didn't deter me from enjoying the main and second couple. i do wish they would've showed them more because they were really cute :')
i think it doesn't sin more than other romcoms that share the same tropes. i wouldn't advice watching the first episodes to decide if you should keep watching, because the first 4-5 eps are the best ones lol but overall it's an alright drama. if you like the lead actors i think you'll enjoy watching them ^_^
