The denial is okay but a bit too much/long. I still prefer Li Yubing and that one is 40 episodes though there was a large portion of it on the depression plot which I didn't like as well.

Yes, that's why I don't feel so strongly these episodes, except the part when they could have captured Xu senior, but Xu senior didn't need to be there in the first place so it it okay. The assassination that got Mu Senior killed is quite duh also, but it is required so the stepsister returns.

SML is not present in many of the current episodes. More of the ex-GF though.

You are right, TXL is obviously putting an act - showed when he brought the creditors to MWQ's office. He warned her about the stepsister so he knows that she is providing info to the Japs and thus put up this show. He didn't need to bring them there if he doesn't want to see her. If I were the Japs I would have suspected (but the Japs didn't know how close they were like we do). MWQ would have suspected so think she is just playing along to make it convincing.
