Random thought on rewatching episode 10: I just love how the MC (main character) has all the villain official's names on these wooden cards, and has all his schemes lined up and ready to go. MC's like, okay, the abc case is wrapped up, the judge should be pretty free now, pick an official from these cards and we'll (drag another official into the mud and) send the judge another case to investigate. MC's totally getting revenge on all the rich and powerful untouchable villains after all the years and the commoner victims are so grateful. Of course, each of the rich and powerful corrupt officials that are being knocked down belong to the other princes' factions, so the MC's also replacing them with good officials and clearing the way to the throne for his chosen prince.

where can I watch this except WeTv and Viki, cuz they aren't availble in my region
Above, on this webpage, it also shows that it's also on Tencent. I think you just click on the icon and it'll take you to the site. I watched all the dramas I named on Viki, which I'm fortunate enough to have. Good luck!
Having watched this all the way through years ago, it's even better on a second viewing - now that I know all the secret identities and plot twists and meticulous scheming, I can enjoy the plotting and ruthless face-slapping even more.
If I get the Youku app, pay for the VIP and special edition, how much money would it cost in total to get to the very end of this series? Or I should just be more patient with my paid Viki subscription...
So...I feel like I'm about to watch this for the third time :') I want a fluffy, slightly cheesy c-drama that's…
Want to try reading "Ascending, Do Not Disturb"? It's a relaxing, easy, fluffy, positive read with a good female MC, and it's totally translated on Novel Updates.
I recently watched Nirvana In Fire, Word of Honor, and The Untamed - all very popular, highly rated dramas - with lots and lots of men on screen. Made me kind of miss Romance of Tiger and Rose, where there were lots of women in that first city, including middle-aged women as soldiers, ministers, generals and officials.
I think this drama brings out one of the best of make up, hairdo and costume for Wuxia genre. WKX is such a sign…
In general, I think the makeup/hair/costumes are getting better and better, and viewer's expect better stuff too. Remember when weird squiggly pointy geometric hair updos were more common? Or heavy eyeshadow? Or clunky looking costumes? The current style is more natural, with amazing HD makeup and lighting (compare to shows from 10 years ago, the lighting on actors/actress' skin is so much better now), very light, breezy, flowing, many layered robes that make actors look like they're floating as they're walking. Heck, even watching the two leads spinning in synchronicity in the air or flying over the rooftops together makes me admire how far the action actors/stuntmen/wirework/fight choreography/special effects have progressed over the years.
He looks so handsome doesn't he. So easy on the eyes. At times I can't stop looking at him. LOL
They pulled his hair (wig) back tightly into a high bun for his ice cube royal prince role in Legend of Yun Xi and Blooms at Ruyi. He looks better in Word of Honor with his loose hair, bangs, different camera angles, and more facial expressions (smiles!).
Reminds me of the Count of Monte Cristo. An innocent man suffers for years, and returns in disguise to slowly get his revenge against every enemy who did him and his loved ones wrong...The start is a bit bewildering, as there are so many different people/plots, but as his revenge slowly unfolds, the story gets better and better as his years-long plans and schemes come to fruition.
While I'm waiting for episode 19 to be subtitled, I'm rewatching the first few min of Nirvana in Fire so I can see Zhang Zhe Han as the young Lin Shu (male lead)...at this rate I may have to rewatch Legend of Yun Xi and Blooms at Ruyi...to get my fix.
For everyone who's watching this currently, I suggest you don't skip any episodes especially the flashback one…
Yes, don't skip anything. I watched everything the first time (it's a long mystery series with lots of hints along the way). Only upon the second rewatching (after reading the novel several times) did I skip the scenes I didn't like as much, already knowing what happened in them.
