I am so glad I watched this drama when I was still new to kdrama land. I probably wouldn't even have attempted it now if someone recommended it to me for the first time. But let me tell you, it wasn't perfect, but my goodness this show made my heart ache and it's the feeling it left with me that I'll never forget. The fl nailed her role above and beyond. To me, this is a classic for historical dramas. It had everything from romance/crazy romance to plot twists.
Tbh I skipped watched this drama but I still stayed till the end because firstly Suzys acting was the best I've seen and the story intrigued me a lot. I just wish the execution of the story was done better.
I agree with you. I found watching Minglan like watching paint dry. I fled like a bat out of hell. If this were…
Oh I agree with you , I only tried watching 1 ep of minglan but i guess I'll never know why everyone praises it so much. There arent many good historical dramas out there but rise of the phoenixes was one of my favorite because of how authentic it looked , the storyline, the acting(the best part), love like galaxy gives me all the things I loved from rise of phoenixes.
I am glad that the 3rd aunt has surfaced and actually she can see the FL in the right light. She can see how clever…
The third aunt has become one of my favorites there was this scene with her husband I think in eps 7 or 8 and CCS was there also and the interaction between them was so engaging!!
Waiting for these episodes is such a nightmare because I want to see more of the leads interactions 😪. I must say the tension build up between them so far is done well. Although I'm still skipping scenes here and there I love how interesting the plot is , so many things are yet to come lol. Again I'm all praise of Zhao lusi acting here, shes so effortless and I hope she takes on more mature serious and even agnsty roles in the future. While everyone is talking about minglan here I'm getting Rise of the phoenixes vibes from this drama and I'm loving it.
It' s simply uninteresting to me cliche is not a problem, if well executed, i was looking forward to a revenge…
I'm still going to finish it because I want to see how it ends and I really hope it ends with her getting her revenge and begins a relationship with eun pyeong and if not I atleast hope she moves far away from everyone and tries to live a new life.I will be so disappointed if the show ends with her and the chairman living together happily, so unhealthy and dumb.
While every one always cries over eternal love /ashes of love and love of redemption and others, I can say without a doubt that this show was far better in real angst. it's been 2 years since I watched it and even now when I I hear its ost 'first sight' I cannot explain the hole in my heart. it wasn't perfect but it was worth it, a perfect and meaningful tragedy.
Greed, jealousy, anger, crying and wailing within family - domestic dispute isn't my thing, I drop many dramas…
I haven't watched minglan , tried the first epsiode but couldn't do it. I suspect the family fighting won't last long judging from the trailer because we still have the growing romance between the leads and the the MLs revenge arc to look forward to. Also minglan story was more about marriage and family life. Not sure about yang yang but if you're referring to the actor yang yang , well I'm not a fan , for some reason both his acting and presence isn't impressive. I could not watch WRTW because of this.
I won't lie I skipped alot of family scenes in the first 3 eps but I have to say this might become one of my favorite cdramas. firstly the acting is top notch especially from our girl zhao Lu si. I love the lighting , outfits and aesthetic of the drama it reminds me of rise of phoenixes. Its obvious the plot is about to get even more interesting and I'm here for it.And again I love how Zhao Lu si has literally embodied her character. Even if the shows drags I know the acting and romance will make me stay.
This is one of those shows I didn't expect to like and then boom, I find myself laughing like a hyena after the first 2 eps. Firstly I'm all praise for Park Eun bin, I cannot believe she is the same actress in do you like Brahms and King's affection, what a talented woman!
The first 2eps impressed me, but the storyline seems to be taking a cliche and uninteresting route. I kind of wish Seo yea ji came back with fluffy romcom instead.
I feel like the romance between Yul and Mudeok is puppy love right now but the true love is actually between her and Uk, this is displayed through their actions especially jank uks because mu deok is still cold to him. I'm so excited to see the development of their relationship. I just wish they would stop giving Yul and naksu so much of screen time, it's kinda unnecessary.
This was the role where dilraba convinced me of her acting skills and left such an impression on me that now Im her fan. The plot isn't that grand but if you looking for intense firey chemistry then vin zhang and dilraba won in that department. Their chemistry had me on the edge of my seat, damn.
I remember watching the trailer and thinking how nice it is to see dilraba in plain/normal clothes apart from the very glamorous look she always has in modern dramas, not that I'm complaining because she still rocks with glamour and all.
It's also nice to see Una You , I really loved her role in the heiress.
Flop or not one thing for sure Xiao zhan is always delivering in terms of acting. I have to say I'm ready for the angst and I wouldnt mind a well done kiss scene or two from XZ.
This was my first kdrama and I still remember how excited I was to watch it. At that time I didn't know about popular sites like dramacool or kiss asian so I watched some pretty bad copies lol. But never the less this drama not only hooked me but had me sobbing, the intense sad feeling it left with me took me some time to get over. It's funny because now im a kdrama watcher and I feel if someone recommended this to me now I probably would have dropped it.
The point is it wasn't perfect but I consider it a classic in my kdrama books. It's one of those dramas that even if you forget it you always remember that feeling it left you with. Now that im familiar with kdramas it's amazing what a star-studded cast they had for this especially our two leads IU and lee joon gi , almost all of them are so popular now including my other favorite nam joo hyuk.
I just watched the new trailer and IAM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!! The romance, the setting and the acting of the 2 leads look fantastic. I've been craving an authentic historical drama, I can't wait to watch this.
Judging from the trailer Zhao Lusi acting looks like what Ive been wanting from her for so long, Im so excited to see her in action.
