This drama is pretty overrated and hyped. Didn't find the story enjoyable but most importantly the chemistry was off beat for me and way too mismatched. The energy from both the leads was just odd and felt like actual acting for the plot. Not one of ZLS strongest roles but I see the appeal. As for the ml unfortunately not my cup of tea interms of both acting and attraction.Never the less I'm glad people enjoyed it for what it was but certainly not the best out there.

I agree. I was also expecting something more spectacular especially when we've got an extremely popular actress such as Lusi. Maybe the trailer was not well put together and doesn't showcase the potential. An example of an amazing trailer would be from Till the end of the moon, that was a damn good trailer.

I appreciate the effort in typing this long essay but honestly your comment seems very exaggerated about HL and doesn't really change my opinion.However it's okay I'm glad you enjoyed the drama. It's definitely not for everyone.

I so agree with all your points here. Honestly some of the reviews of HL on here are so mindblowing that I was wondering if I was crazy.

I never said her character was weak I just said it was inconsistent. It could have been written better (I'm not sure if she behaves this was according to the novel and they were staying true to that). I guess this drama is also for a certain age group , some of us even if we want to watch mindless things we still can't switch of our brains. I also wish the ml feelings for her in college were portrayed in a much better manner , it just felt rushed and weird, also his mannerisms at times to her felt like he was talking to a little girl. Hard to enjoy the romance even with good chemistry when you pick up on this stuff.

Also nothing against Dylan Wang but it's so difficult to sometimes to take these younger guys in the roles of successful/ business men or CEOs seriously. Judging by the pictures alone Dylan only seems to match the aesthetic.

I actually agree with your point. ZLS is actually a good actress that doesn't seem to rely only on looks but something was very off and inconsistent about her role. I really wish she would take more stronger roles to showcase her talent only because shes played so many cute/funny shy roles.

Came here to say I'm really enjoying this show despite the bad reviews. what makes me stick around is definitely the interactions and chemistry between gong jun and dilraba.I just adore the way he says 'Ren Anle' ♥️. The only disappointing thing is the CGI and production, for a show with high profile stars , the production should have been top notch , really no excuse for this.Again I acknowledge I'm only watching because of the 2 leads. It's kind of like hidden love, if we didn't have zhao lusi and chen zenyaun would it have been that hyped and looked upon. it would have been just another sweet love story.

I've watched the first episode and honestly, I am so surprised at how sad it was, I was literally shedding tears here. The child actors did such an amazing job. It's still early but I really love the background music and the royal vibe this has.

if I may ask what type of shows are you into , like what's your favorite kdrama? because honestly with every epsiode king the land just gets better. Episode 6 is one of my favorites.

This show is currently top 10 in South Africa. so happy because this is literally the perfect show if you just want to smile. Lee jun ho and Yoona are doing amazing job with their chemistry. Types of shows like this is what brought me to kdramaland. I'm genuinely surpsired at the comments in this section. This is supposed to be a silly romantic comedy full of cliches. No one was selling you a masterpiece here except for good chemistry, handsome people and lots of laughter.

so what I do is I go onto my netflix app/account and just search for it there using the titleof the show. if it pops up that means its been added to the Netflix in your region.

Yes this is on my netlfix!! I'm actually gonna hold of watching this now cuoz watching stuff on netlfix is so much more easier because of access.

seeing alot of negative comments, this is usually a sign I'm probably gonna like the drama. Can't wait to give it a shot now.

Im surprised with the negative comments and people comparing it to business proposal.this drama is giving exactly what it was marketed as. quite frankly I've been tired of the amount of intense/revenge/mystery/sad plots we've been getting alot of. These silly romantic comedy dramas with its overly dramaticness is literally the heart of kdramas.These dramas is what got me started on kdramas. Now back to king the land loved the first 2 eps , I did find it a bit draggy at times however I couldn't stop smiling at how funny our 2 leads are , and lee jun ho , well let's just say a good amount of eye candy can't hurt lol 🥰😍

Loved the opening of the trailer and that soundtrack. I'm really looking forward to a more serious political/war intrigue vibe.
