The romance is slow burn but it is balanced really really well with the revenge, let's say the revenge wouldn't really be possible without the romance, but it's not a cliche, overt, blazing kind of romance (it's filled with flirting, protectiveness, tension still), so the drama respects the revenge and romance plot equally I would say. The pacing is really good, every plot point feels necessary and aligns with the motivations of the characters. They didn't really give the ages of the characters but I would assume late twenties.
This was so so so so good!!! Complex characters, interesting backstories, great relationships, cute mature love and great comedy!! Just needed one more episode to see more lovey dovey stuff but nonetheless it was still veryyy good!! The writing and acting from everyone is also great!!!
Sooo how's the romance in this one? I've tried watching edits of the main couple but either the editors aren't good or these two really don't have many romantic scenes. I saw one scene where he broke her heart asking for a divorce so does he ever make up for that??? or is the romance all overshadowed by her disease and maybe dying??

40 mins in and he is SUCH A RED FLAG but damn if he ain't giving me butterflies too 😭😭😭😭 I AM the problem 😫😫😫 okay I finished and there was no legit reason why she would choose the guy that she did except that some girls are just more attracted to black cats than golden retrievers no matter how much we don't want to be 😭 ofc the main red flag was that the power dynamic was really off but I think the ending scene tried to set it straight so being the romantic I am I shall believe that they have a healthier dynamic from now on lol
NO CAP the second lead syndrome is ROUGH with this one. As someone who hates love triangles, I am always rooting for the main lead, and trusting the script to make the main lead worth it, but this one was tough. At first, I enjoyed the love triangle because it made the drama angsty and the main leads romance better. Still, there were definitely weak moments where the second lead was a tad too good and had me like oh yeah this is a LOVE TRIANGLE, this is going to hurt a bit and it did; Basically, the main couple's romance was strong but it could have been much stronger, I needed just a tad bit more to cement that the main lead was the one for her. Still, the main couple's chemistry was really good and they were cute and their banter really made me root for their romance.
I am on ep 5/16 and I'm half in and half out of the drama lol I loove a cold female/warm male trope so I am going to push through for the romance but I want to comment that the show is a little too dramatic than necessary lol and the male lead's acting is not that great, the female lead is sooooo much better since it is a 2019 drama I will give it grace but yeah it's not hitting me right. Also, I just found out the happy ending is not exactly satisfying, so my motivation to finish this drama has already tanked 😭 but like I said I want to push through for the romance, I really really really hope there is good romance that makes up for the flaws sigh

okay I finally finished!! It ended super cute and he is sooooo handsome and best kisser ever omg!!!! Yeah this was a nice short and sweet drama and the humor was top tier!!
episode 4 was the hardest thing I have been put through there WERE LITERALLY A HUNDRED WAYS TO NOT MAKE HER LOOK PATHETIC I THOUGHT THE WHOLE POINT WAS HER CONFIDENCE IN HER UNREALISTIC DREAM UGHHHHHH i really had to rant to get through my second hand embarrassment sorry
On ep. 33 and I finally realized why I haven't been able to really enjoy this drama, basically bc I know their love ends tragically in every timeline so I can't really invest my emotions into the main couple and their love. Also realizing I am just not a fan of fated love either, but even knowing all this I am going to finish this drama bc it is still interesting and Ding XuYi is just too cute I am finishing it for him lol The main reason I started this drama was because I was looking for something like LBFAD again but I might just have to make peace with the fact that nothing is ever going to make me feel the way LBFAD did, like it had all the tropes that I loovveee but I started off from the peak and now everything feels downhill le sigh

on episode 23 and my man xie wei has gone through a lot for this woman lol I will not be mad with how he makes her fall in love with him he deserves it for being a good morally gray man to me lol plus she is equally as gray and cunning so they deserve each other oooh but I love seeing him worked up over her
she is sooooo babygirl and sweet and he is such a dork!! I love a sweet and hardworking FL and a cranky but gooey center ML. This is a light drama, an episode or two every night and enjoying the fluff kind of drama. Some would call it boring but their relationship was sooo healthy and filled with green flags, it really warms the heart. Their chemistry was great too as expected from great actors with some great romantic kisses (not spicy but still great)!! I would recommend this drama to those who like opposites attract, healthy relationship, cute and slow fluff with easy to love characters!
Just binged this show in two days, there were many tropes that I am not a fan of like fated love and magic love spell but the ML and FL had such good chemistry and a way of showing their feelings that I could not stop watching. This show made me see the beauty of past life destined love bc usually I find that plot device corny. But I believe this show did it in a tasteful way as their love story in modern times was fulfilling. I enjoyed the push and pull they had in their relationship and even the other woman drama added angst that I enjoyed because it makes when they finally get together that much sweeter.
